Do fellow ADHD understand what I mean when I say that “it’s not that I don’t have interest in that thing, but I don’t and I haven’t for some time even though I really wanted the thing and I like it, I enjoy talking about it, it makes me happy, but I can’t actually do it for now and it makes me sad, but I can’t force myself so I just have to wait it out for my interest in the thing to come back even though I am interested in the thing” because I don’t know how to explain it and I’m frustrated?
I wish more people knew how affected our emotions and emotional responses are by ADHD. Everyone will experience their ADHD differently, so feel free to cross out what applies to you! I’ve only recently started externalizing emotions again and..it’s crazy how much energy I put into holding it all back - without great success. Here’s my patreon! (is this a smooth topic change?)
tbh i like to think of my adhd as more of a cool power i have bc
i can have an absurd amt of caffeine or sugar and not be even a little affected by it
i have time blindness so if im impatient abt smth i can just chill bc i kno when it finally happens itll feel like time went by fast as Fuck
i can entertain myself by staring blankly ahead for 30 minutes (and no i will not remember a single thing i was thinking abt during it)
i know a ridiculous amt of stuff abt all my special interests so i can tell ppl cool facts abt things like bugs and cats
I Can Hear Tvs And Computers
great at keeping secrets bc i will forget them within 24 hrs
despite my bad memory i somehow manage to remember random small things abt my friends like their fav color or a specific thing they dont like or the name of a pet they happened to briefly mention on a call 6 months ago
