Alex Rider #1.1 (2020)
Julius: I’ve stolen your identity and have been living as you for a week.
Alex:
Julius: * starts sobbing *
Alex, hugging him: Hey, it’s okay....
Julius, loudly sobbing: How do you even get up in the morning?!?
Alex: Shhh, I know, I know. It’s gonna be okay.
Eva Stellenbosch is coming to interview you this weekend.
She wants to meet Alex Friend, not Alex Rider. There’s a lot of work to do.
Alex: so here's the tea
Mrs Jones: for the last time it's called a mission report
Alex: do you want the tea or not
@ Alex rider fandom (credit to domek on the discord for finding this) WE DONT HAVE TO WAIT TILL 2022 OR SOMETHING
The world we inhabit is…murky. Things are never as clear as we would wish.
Sooooo i finished the Alex Rider Series....
and wow just wow emotional roller coaster much?
i think Anthony was trying to kill me with feels. uhhhhhhhh
what am i gonna read now? suggestions? please?
The Power of Five series - Anthony Horowitz.
Think Alex Rider but supernatural and more depressing.
The Tomorrow series - John Marsden
A bunch of Aussie teenagers go camping in the bush, and when they come back they find out Australia’s been invaded. They then proceed to strategically blow up enemy infrastructure using fertiliser, petrol and toasters.
CHERUB series - Robert Muchamore
A kid gets recruited by CHERUB, a British spy organisation where all agents are child orphans. Unlike the Alex Rider series, the main character is a bit of a douchebag, and the stakes aren’t as high (only like drug rings and biker gangs), however I guess this makes it more realistic.
Totally recommend The Enemy by Charlie Higson! Another London-set series where all the adults have turned into zombies and the remaining kids try to survive in the aftermath. Higson’s really the only author I’ve read in this genre who truly rivals Horowitz when it comes to compelling, well written, character-driven adventure plots. Violent, funny, mysterious, exciting … The characters are all fantastic, but it’s the crazy action setpieces that really stand out. They’re so suspenseful I was gripping the book on the literal edge of my seat, hoping my favourite characters would make it to the next chapter. And like Alex Rider you can read most of the series in any order - The Dead is a great one to start on. 💀💀💀
The Tomorrow series is a classic too 😎
Oh and the Young Bond books of course! Also by Charlie Higson, and very Alex Rider in pretty much every respect, if 1930s globe-trotting is more your vibe. Love this series, this is actually what got me hooked on spies and into Alex Rider back in the day
Another one that comes to mind is Trixie Belden ... It's more a girl-sleuth, famous five kinda deal, but there are about fifty books in the series so you'll never run out of old school mysteries to keep you entertained 📚

Alex Rider’s 14th year is like the equivalent of how 2020 has been (especially if you think about what would have happened if he hadn’t managed to stop everyone from completing their evil plans...)
My favorite aspect of the Alex Rider tv series is how by giving Tom, Jack, and Alex’s school life screen time, it shows how much Alex has to lose. Throughout the books Alex is reluctant to take on any mission MI6 assigns him (not including Eagle Strike). We know he just wants to be normal, and stay uninvolved with the spy world, but through the show we’re able to see exactly what it is Alex would be giving up to become a secret agent.
Alex Rider drinking game
Take a drink every time Alex gets himself in danger
Take a drink every time Alex wishes to go back to school
Take a drink when the villain fully explains their master plan
Take a drink for every creepy assistant the villain has
Take a shot every time there’s a pun
Down the whole glass when the pun is a character’s name
Jack & Alex
AH knows it’s ridiculous that Alex is still 14 but he doesn’t care lmao
