I just want to talk about this ending scene because it literally took my breathe away.

After spending her entire afternoon and evening of escaping Lee Lim’s men, Tae Eul sees that Lee Gon is on his way to rescue her. Now I don’t want to say she was a damsel in distress, because she was nothing like that. Tae Eul literally fought and survived all the tactics that Lee Lim did to break her. And finally during her last encounter, it seemed like she was going to give up, but then doesn’t. She has a glimpse of recognition that she wasn’t alone and that someone else was going to face this with her. Tae Eul is utterly exhausted. (And I don’t blame her.)

Lee Gon fights his way to get to Tae Eul and (Kim Go Eun’s acting here is superb) and then as Tae Eul sees that Gon’s coming close to her, she uses all her energy to walk to him. Like you can literally see it and hear her muster all that she has left to close the distance. I absolutely love how Tae Eul slowly raises her arm up as Gon closes the distance and she falls into his arms. 😭 I’ve spoken before about how I love the cinematography of them walking to each other because it holds so much meaning to their relationship. This one is my favorite.

I screamed when the ending credits came on because this ending scene had me on the edge of my seat. I am blown away.
