Had this song suddenly interrupt one I was listening to...oddly enough a song that was recommended to me from a person who said it reminded them of myself and Johnny. (the original song before this one played)
âPatients suffering delusional episodes often focus their paranoia on an external tormentor. Usually one conforming to Jungian archetypes. In this case, a scarecrow.â | Cillian Murphy as Dr. Jonathan Crane/The Scarecrow in The Dark Knight Trilogy (2004 - 2012)
I run a Pop Culture Pagan group on Facebook that centers mostly around Johnny and to help me keep track of experiences, etc as well as talking to others who have some experiences with this entity.
Many group members set out stuff for his birthday, coffee, tea he may like, some sweets, notes and even a book.
When I slipped into meditation, I could easily tell that he was humbled, if not slightly embarrassed that people did this.Â
Hello! I am curious on Pop culture pagan and what it all means and what goes into it(what you do), I'm also curious on why you picked Jonathan
I didn't  really *pick* Johnny, it just sort of happened?
*Longish Answer Below*
Him and I share similar experiences when it comes to abuse, neglect and mockery. When I was younger (after my fathers suicide so I was aboutâŠ6?) I began reading comics and novels, stumbling across Johnny and as the years passed, the more connected I felt because of the similar experiences and complications we both share in life.
It wasnât until my later years that I connected with the Norse God Loki, understanding that he has been in my life since I was a child. I bring this up because with any abuse I have experienced, I could slip into a meditative state and or a sort of lucid day dream state and I would meet Johnny there, in this state, who would calm me and or let me cry or express my feelings with little or no judgement unless it was needed.
Even more after I survived domestic violence and rape from my ex, Johnnyâs presence and Lokiâs were around more and more then.Â
Loki is my spiritual rock for guidance and prayers. Johnny is my emotional rock for my thoughts and memories that are hard to deal with and to understand.
Because of this, I believe that Loki uses the guise of Johnny for my own comfort. Not that I cannot have the conversations with Loki as I do, Johnny. But it feels different and it relates differently.Â
When I accepted this as fact rather then thought, Johnny has been around much more often and Loki less. Given the fact that this month has been an emotional downpour of sorts, itâs understandable that Loki would give me space and Johnny could step in. I have been told by Loki through my own UPG that ââHe trusts Craneââ.
Loki is self aware of Crane but Johnny is not aware of Loki.Â
The energy that I believe to be Loki has either spilt off into this entire other entity or it is another guardian spirit in the guise of Johnny and using this form as comfort for me.
Either way, I accept it and work with both as best as I can.
As far as what I do? I assume you mean my practice with Johnny.Â
There isnât much to tell, I know many people who work inside the DC universe who have a tremendous system put in place as far as spirit archetypes, magic work and a sort of spiritual system in place.
I have never behaved that way with Loki in my personal practice, itâs always been winged and on the moment, fresh and not dictated. Then again, I am an Aquarius tried and true, I donât follow structures very well.
I apply the same as to my relationship with Johnny, we have no systemâŠunless you count offerings of coffee at 7am in the morning? That is about it. He will give me some ideas for curse work but its more of a joke to him. Divination with Johnny is out because he ââHates parlor tricksââ and is more of a man of science and seriousness than wanting to play oogie boogie on a spirit board. If yaâ catch my drift?
I have little to no interest in any system set up, I personally feel that for me, it takes away the freshness and spontaneity of the spiritual relationship. But this is me and this is my UPG and what works for me, everyone is different Anon <3
I also employ the uses of Lucid Dreaming and meditation to visit Johnny in Arkham. It is a set ground we have agreed to meet on, he knows the place and I know of what he has shown me. Itâs more comfortable for him to be met there and I simply find the entire facility fascinating.
Our talks vary from what one could call a therapy session in Arkham to ranting slightly and or hearing him make a few complaints here and then. We talk about our experiences (when he feels like being open about them) we talk about other rogues as well. It depends? His moods can shift a lot.
I hope this helps to answer your question? Feel free to ask anything!
Cut an onion in half and set both halves on the windowsill in the kitchen. Empower to suck up negativity. Change when onion sprouts.
Hang a pair of open scissors over the front door to cut off negativity from entering the house ( make sure the scissors are safely hung!)
Put garlic under the bed to warn off nightmares.
Scent your pillow with lavender to bring sweet dreams ( i do this daily and it works! it also makes me fall asleep faster.)
Place holy water by the left side ( as you face it ) of the front door.
Make a prayer monument built of small, round, white stones in one corner of your property. A small pile will do. Leave milk and honey for the spirits of the property and entreat their protection.
Place a small bag of angelica, rosemary, and mint under the four eaves of the attic ( or on the four corners of your property.)
To stave off a coming storm, stick a knife in the ground, blade pointing in the direction of the oncoming nasty weather to split the wind. Screamâ I am the presence!â at the top of your lungs ,directed at the oncoming storm.
Hang a cluster of acorns on the front door to protect the residence and those who live there.
Place a full glass of water by your bed every night to collect any negativity in the room. ( donât drink it)
Put a mothball in each corner of the room to absorb negativity ( and if you put them around your trash outside, critters wonât rip open your garbage.
Maybe youâre maybe youâre a new witch unsure of what herbs are worth your time as a beginner, maybe money is tight, or maybe youâre just lazy (like us). If we could only choose 10 herbs to use in our craft, these would be our top picks.Â
1. Basil â its the witchâs herb, need we say more? Not only do its magical uses span from protection to love to wealth to exorcism, but it is also delicious in mundane recipes as well. If you can only have one herb, basil is the way to go.
2. Rosemary â this herb is also blessed with a wide variety of uses. Excellent for purification, lust and love, good health, preventing nightmares, and all kinds of sea witchery. Bonus: its fragrance is to die for.
3. Lavender â so you might not be able to find this at the grocery store, but its magical uses outweigh the small inconvenience of tracking it down. Most often used for healing, love, protection, peace, purification, and sleep, lavender is a go-to for any mental health needs.Â
4. Chamomile â lavenderâs luckier, jovial cousin. Primarily used in love, healing, and stress reducing spells, but can also be used for luck and gambling. It is associated with the sun, and makes a great tea infusion for stress relief.Â
5. Thyme â the best herb for social situations. It attracts loyalty, affection, and a good reputation, but we most often bathe in an infusion of thyme for constant flow of money. Also good for increasing courage.Â
6. Cinnamon â while technically a spice, cinnamon has many magical uses and is also delicious in cooking. Ideal for prosperity and success, protection, love, and all spells related to the spiritual self.Â
7. Â Peppermint â a favorite in herbalism for treatment of digestive issues, this herb ideal for cleansing and protecting. Peppermint is also widely available, makes for lovely tea, and is a great addition to any luck spell.
8. Rose â is any love spell complete without rose petals? This flower is the symbol for beauty, marriage, sexuality, divine love, and all kinds of relationships. A larger list of uses for roses can be found here.Â
9. Cayenne Pepper â every witch needs something with a bit of a bite. This spice does wonders as cursing or banishing agent, or even just as an addition to any spell to speed up results.Â
10. Mugwort â if we recommend any specialty herb, this is the one. Mugwort is used in spells for divination, astral travel, working within the spiritual realm, and receiving prophetic dreams. (Note: this herb should not be ingested by people who are pregnant) Â
