Podcast idea: a D&D campaign with same characters, same story, same everything, but different comedians picking it up each week and trying to deal with what the players of the past week put their characters through
Working title: Roll Reversal
So there’s actually a really solid chance of this becoming a thing. Can you reblog this post if you’d have interest in listening to this?

You don’t have to be grateful that it isn’t worse.
read that. read it again, and again, and again. somebody, somewhere, always has it worse than you. there is one person on this planet that has it the worst of all, and that person is NOT the only person allowed to be unhappy with their lot. if things are bad for you, they are bad for you. period.
This goes for trauma as well. A lot of times survivors get trapped in a cycle of minimizing/diminishing their trauma because “other people have it worse” - but there is no hierarchy of trauma. There is no ranking system for which traumas are “better” or “worse.” Your trauma is valid. Period.
IMPORTANT TRUTHS.
As a therapist, lemme just say: almost every trauma survivor I’ve ever had has at some point said “But I didn’t have it as bad as some people” and then talked about how other types of trauma are worse. Even my most-traumatized, most-abused, most psychologically-injured clients say this.
The ones who were cheated on, abandoned, and neglected say this. The ones who were in dangerous accidents/disasters say this. The ones who were horrifyingly sexually abused say this. The ones who were brutally beaten say this. The ones who were psychologically tortured for decades say this. What does that tell you? That one of the typical side-effects of trauma is to make you believe that you are unworthy of care.
Don’t buy into it, because it’s nonsense. It doesn’t matter if someone else had it “worse.” Every person who experiences a trauma deserves to get the attention and care they need to heal from it.
“one of the typical side-effects of trauma is to make you believe that you are unworthy of care.”
SO true.
my favorite saying is ‘just because someone got shot doesn’t mean your broken arm doesn’t hurt’
could those four fat sluts (the beatles) do this?
me: *catches myself being judgmental* me to me: i did not raise u this way
honestly, being a vampire who is also a goth kid is the best possible cover
nobody’s gonna think the kid in all black, with an umbrella and sunglasses and a shirt that says ‘bite me’ is ACTUALLY a vampire, they’ll just think you’re a goth kid pretending to be a vampire
“I drink blood to sustain myself and to heal mortal wounds”
“heh yeah sure ya do kyle”
so i didn’t realize kuzco is literally only 17 in the emperor’s new groove and the pacha-kuzco dynamic becomes like 8x funnier bc pacha has accidentally adopted a teenager
Kuzco: I want to tear down your home and build a swimming pool there. lol
Pacha:
I binged all of Dark Tourist on Netflix yesterday, and loved it btw. I was so hyped when I saw there was an episode in South Africa, but I cringed so hard when I watched it. Not the first part, I’ve been to Alexandra, the portrayal was insightful, bright and well done. And the segment with Stacy-Lee, loved it. The segment after Alexandra, that hurt my soul. As soon as I heard Orania I cringed so hard. I will say that I don’t think it’s a dark tourist destination, NO ONE ever goes there, especially on holiday, and I’d really hate if it became a destination for foreigners. When they sang Die Stem, the song at the very end of the episode, I wanted to shrivel up and die. There was so much he could have done, but instead they indulged the crazy racists we don’t want here. Even there he didn’t push them, they know exactly what they’re doing, they just didn’t want to say it on foreign tv.They’re not edgy, or dark or cool. There’s nothing stopping (most) of us from visiting Orania, we just don’t want to. All these people are just racists pining after the ‘good old days’ of Apartheid. At least the Afrikaner Weerstandsbeweging would have been straight up for the camera if he found them.
Yass I hated that segment. I was ashamed of the entire thing, just thinking about it makes me cringe. He really did bring some of the nastiest, shunned stuff from here to the light. Still looking forward to season 2 though, and loved every other episode and segment
