Because reading the Silmarillion makes you start drawing generic elves again (mostly because it feels like you can’t capture the beauty of any specific elf). Great. I love being generic.

I just noticed this lying around in some folder where it did not belong! Very angry with it. Not as old as I thought, though. It seems to be from early January. Let’s ignore that.
“Something knight-y but no full armor because that’s hard and it should be, like, dynamic, you know” was probably what my brain was thinking.
I could still clean this up, make the lines a bit sharper and crisper, but you know what? No.
What did I say? There are never enough colour studies!
Since I’ve drawn his I’ve never managed to get my hand into this shape again. Similar, yes, but not the same, but at the time it was a very natural pose.
There are only so many things you can do while skyping for hours. Why not paint a bit!
Oh, I was so proud when I was done with this, because it took me just a couple of hours (yeah, I know) and was way better than I had imagined since I hadn’t painted anything for some time.
Now, sadly, I see all the flaws – but still, I can rest in peace knowing that I put way too much work into this project than I actually had to and made someone smile with my art. Worth it!
(btw, this was used in a layout, that’s why there is so much whitespace.)
I actually really like this one. But since I thought I was done with it and there are so so many other old, not too bad looking files I should work on, this just has to got.
Ah, you got to love a nice, simple little study when you’re too lazy to draw anything else.
I would not call it finished. More like “I’m not going to continue painting this, it wasn’t even supposed to be anything finished from the start, so just no.”
Dear dear, wasn’t I away for quite some time! Well, I’m not claiming to be back, since life is sucking out my soul left and right, but I will upload a view of the things I managed to do (digitally) over the past months in the coming days.
