Reunion | tasmin&colette
There was a bitter taste of guilt at seeing the cloaked figure approach her. The queen knew that Colette wouldn’t abandon her in her time of need. The young woman was there when the queen was accused of treason and locked away up to the moment they led her up to the raised stage for her execution. Colette had more than repaid her for saving her from the dungeons; Tasmin had no right to ask her of anything. And yet here they were.
When Colette revealed her face and called out to her, the corner of Tasmin’s lips curled in a small smile behind her own veil. She stepped forward, now that she was absolutely certain of who the figure was. Her fingers went to the cloth that hid her identity for so long and she peeled it off pulling back the hood that hid her dark brown hair. “Colette.” Tasmin said with a soft nod, still walking towards her former lady-in-waiting. “I’m sorry for all the secrecy but there’s no other way, I’m afraid. Are you well?”
Once she removed the veil and saw Tasmin’s face all the memories started to flood back to her. The day of her execution was perfectly preserved in her mind. She could remember each detail exactly how it happened. Seeing the Titans whisk away Tasmin before her very eyes. Getting left behind again. It didn’t matter then because Tasmin was safe. She had to believe that. She had been ready that day to see someone close to her die. She hadn’t been totally ready for her to be taken like that. Being teased with the idea she was still alive but she couldn’t see her. Until now. Maybe that is why there was a sudden flood of emotions that washed over her. As Tasmin drew closer to her she wrapped her arms around her in an embrace. For moment she swore she was back with Themis, back home. At their real home. But, that wasn’t here. And once Colette opened her eyes back up she was transported back to the reality of where they where.
“Sorry.” She said softly, not sure how Tasmin would react to that. She quickly let her go and took a step back. “I’m just very happy you are okay. You are okay aren’t you? Are you here to tell me something awful? Are you being held against your will? Are you a prisoner?” The questions just poured out of her, she needed to know why she was here.
