As soon as the word âhatedâ hit him, Martin couldnâthelp but wince slightly. But this wasnât about him, this was about Parker, andhe had no right to be upset with what she had just said. âI thought you might.âHe replied softly, having tried to prepare himself for that possibility. Youcouldnât leave someone, and not expect there to be hurt feelings. Parker hadevery reason to hate him, and he had no reason to try and tell her why sheshouldnât. Not setting out to hurt her, didnât mean that it wasnât still hisfault that she had been hurt. What he hadnât expected to hear, was her nextwords. He didnât have a response for that, because he had never anticipatedever hearing her say that. âI⊠Well I canât say that I understand how you feel.I can try to put myself in your shoes and⊠Itâs okay to be confused abouteverything?â It wasnât said in the most confident tone, but that mostly stemmedfrom how unsure of everything he was in that minute. âI can understand why youâdhate me. I probably would if I was you, I guess part of me⊠Thought you wouldhave some fairytale love when I came back. Someone who would make everythingelse better. That you wouldnât be hurt anymore. Is there⊠Anything I can do tohelp?â
âI just want it to stop,â Parker told him as she hugged her knees, she wasnât sure what she was talking about but she just wanted the longing, how her heart seems to be grasped when she sees him, she just wanted that to end. She loved, loves him a lot and she doesnât know where they stand as of the moment. Are they even friends? What the fuck are they even? Alcohol was clouding her judgement, she knew that and it wasnât good, she wiped the tears away from her cheeks before shrugging at Martin, raising her brow. âI just wanted to hear it from you again,â She told him looking up eagerly listening to what he has to say even if she knew that her question might end up hurting herself, but still, she was curious on what he has to say. âWhy did you have to leave?â She was ready to hear about this again, that she was not an enough reason for him to stay, that he needed to go off wherever. She needed to hear it again because maybe when she does, she can move on from him, hate him enough to finally let go of her feelings but just looking at him standing there, being all concerned, deep inside, she knew that wasnât happening.
