2005 Furby Skinning and Repair

After a quick sync screw fix on a ‘98 furby, I decided to start skinning our 2005 furby (Granny) to see if I could repair some of her eye problems. I decided to write a little bit of a guide for getting into these guys, since I wasn’t able to find much help before I started.

Hey furb community, I'm hoping someone has some posts/links to point to, I'm trying to figure out if 2005s can be fixed. Thanks to furbytech I had learned how to fix the originals pretty well, but they never got much experience with the 2005s and they've been gone for quite awhile so I doubt they're planning on working on 2005 fixes anytime soon.

So any posts about the inards of 2005s, taking them apart, fixing any parts, ect, I'd love to see!! I have a 2005 I'd like to fix but I don't want to go through the trouble of skinning them if there's not any possible fixes.

Does anyone know of food/snacks that are like dog chews? Like, those dentastix? But not necessarily for dental health, tho I def don't want something sugary.

The best I've found are chew sticks like miswak and licorice root sticks but those seem to be more of an alternate toothbrush instead of for constant chewing. I seen cinnamon sticks as an option, but I'm unsure if I'd like the strong flavor.

And of course there's the rubber/silicone chews/chewerly stuff but I was wanting something more edible, but longer lasting than say, carrots for example.. so, you know, like dog chews. Oh and yes, I'm aware of gum, it's already my main option, but like I said, I was wanting something more edible/ stick like. Chewing penicils and pens isn't great for many reasons.

It seems so odd that so many people have asked similar and seek out things like this but there still doesnt seen to be an option created..

Maybe there's even something like a recipe someone has made?

Any help would be great!
