You confessed to him, and instead of just turning you down like he SHOULD have if he didnāt feel the same for you, heās just kind of shrugged and ignored it and youāve all been moving on with your lives pretending that this is okay, when in reality, this should have ended ages ago.

Just because Ash doesnāt necessarily have the inclination to notice or fully understand romance or its various intricacies doesnāt mean he doesnāt have intrinsic value to Serena in other ways. Even beyond the romantic, and for all us who have travelled with him, Ash has helped to inspire new ways of thinking, new ways of approaching problems, new ways of living! And weak is the word thatās farthest from the description of Ash Ketchum. Ash Ketchum is likely one of the strongest people, both physical stamina, and in terms of willpower, that Iāve come to know. And regardless of whether or not certain feelings are reciprocated, her friendship with him should not be diminished, nor should her feelings, nor should he as a person. And donāt think that you should use your very fortunately found relationship with Paul as a crutch for an argument on behalf of your point. What youāve found is something that is, on the grand scale of things, quite rare. Sure, you might HEAR about couples living happily ever after and falling in love right and left and center, but the numbers speak differently. There are multitudes of people that either cannot or do not enter a romantic relationship over the course of their lives, and this should neither discourage, nor be criticized by people who do have the opportunity to do so. Now, in light of all this, I think you should apologize to not only Serena, here, but Ash as well. This was, for lacking of a better description, a cruel way to slap Serena in the face. And here, after what I heard from the Master Class, I thought you two were becoming better friends.

Iām not diminishing their friendship or anything like that. Iām calling it like I see it. Ash is doing nothing but hurting her by not cutting her loose. He may run fast, he might jump high, but he canāt stand to see tears. Thatās the weakness Iām talking about here. His heart is weak.
