Just a little explanation of this blog and links to some others if you are interested

This blog is going to be just general ramblings from me, there will be the occasional drawing, snippet of a story or some fanfiction I’m writing, and sometimes political stuff (though I will try to keep that at a minimum)

I myself go by the name Tobias or Toby (choose whichever you like) and I am gender-fluid, so I don’t mind what pronouns you call me (though in order of preferred they/he/she would be that) and I am 19 years old currently.

I would like it if people wouldn’t message me, I have bad anxiety and even playing an online game makes me feel like I’m going to throw up, so having someone I don’t know in my DMs is scary. I am willing to answer any questions people may have, maybe provide clarity on some things that I know about, and I may take suggestions on videos to make on my YouTube channel (I post very rarely, but I’d like to be posting more).

Just a quick warning, some of the things I post may be either suggestive or more mature in nature, I will always try to put general warnings on things I know could trigger some people, but I can’t always correctly label things.

Currently watching Pantheon Mythology (one of my favorite youtubers) and came up with a theory about the origin of the god known as "Yahweh". I'm putting it here in case I get smote out of existence :)

The beginning of this is me making notes about the shasu of Yahweh, and El, the Canaanite father of gods.

No one really knows what Yahweh was when referenced by the ancient Egyptians, it could have been a place. If Yahweh was a place, then the Yahweh that is worshipped today may have been someone from there, naming them self after their home in an attempt at being remembered. What if Yahweh was a city that was destroyed by the Canaanites, it's existence wiped from everything as a result. God could have been someone who lived in Yahweh before it was destroyed, and after its destruction harbored a deep resentment for the Canaanites and their gods. The god we know as Yahweh could have been from a group of prophets, or could have worked alone, but the ending was the same. Start discourse between other peoples and the Canaanites, then when the Canaanites were gone, take the mantle of god, and name itself after it's destroyed home. Maybe the Elohim we hear about in the Hebrew Bible is actually El, but renamed to be forgotten, and then Yahweh takes his place, marking him and his people as evil.

Who were you before you became this? The child of a mother who never should have become one, or of a father who only ever wanted a son? How long has it been since you were a child? How long has it been since you were yourself? What did you want when you started? Did you want to help people, did you want to help yourself? A life of luxury, of wealth and power, it’s one that you live, but it is one that you want, is it one that you ever wanted?

You wake with the sun, eat breakfast, maybe you exercise a little before you inevitably begin the monotonous cycle of what you call living. What do you do all day? Do you sit at a computer, running numbers and lines of code to try to spot and fix a problem that doesn’t exist? Do you walk aimlessly through the colorless halls that surround you? Maybe you sit on the couch all day, scrolling through your phone, generating images and videos of women who could never be real, asking them to say that they love you.

I can’t help being curious, no one can. Your life is one surrounded by cameras and microphones, every step and word being meticulously analyzed by more than millions of eyes from people you will never know are more than numbers. You weren’t always one of the robots you’ve spent your life building, you’ve had feelings, you’ve enjoyed things. Why don’t you anymore?

I understand how it feels to be a robot. Though I was a child then, and I still technically am, I have been stagnant. I was hurt, and I was scared, so I pushed everyone away and tried to forget how to feel. It made things worse, I am better, but I lost three years of my life because I tried to hide. I was thirteen, I dropped out of school, I ghosted all my friends, and I locked myself in my room all day everyday. I finally left when I was sixteen, but I still acted like a thirteen year old. I lost all my friends, I had none of the skills I would have learned at school, and I had forgotten how to feel. I thought I was protecting myself by hiding away. The absence of emotion leaves only logic, and pure logic makes no one any more than a robot.

I was lucky, I still am lucky, I’m healing, and I’m actually trying to heal. I’m nineteen, my whole life is ahead of me. I don’t know your age, I honestly don’t care to look, but I know your life is sad, that you’re alone. Maybe you won’t ever feel better, maybe you won’t ever feel at all, and maybe you don’t want to. Maybe you won’t listen, maybe you will. Maybe you’ll never see this, or maybe it’ll interrupt the steady flow of soulless images and videos that you see everyday.

I was an angry person, now I am someone who is healing, and I wish to be someone who is happy in the future. Who were you in the past, what are you now, and what do you want to be? Adults can dream, and as cliche as it sounds, the dream of a better future can help in an empty soul.

In the spirit of a “The Character would not be able-bodied [after all the injuries/illnesses/traumas they’ve experienced]” post I have somewhere in my very long queue… my version of Miraak is blind after escaping Apocrypha. I think its effect on his eyes should be more than cosmetic. He perceives the world as a dark greenish-gold blur that shifts unpredictably, as if he were looking up through murky water. When fighting dragons, he uses his own draconic ability to sense their souls to orient himself (this approach takes some refining… especially when he’s doing it alongside Elen, his reluctant ally who also has a dragon soul).
