Invincible was nuts, really liked the adaptation! Little Mark to celebrate
INVINCIBLE 1.05, âThat Actually Hurtâ
Facebook is really a wild place
Pass it on.
Follow Us For Cats!
Legit I just had this talk with my parents this morning. My day bought an Easter Lilly and I told him to get rid of it
Very important!
Also important to note: Daffodils are part of the lily family, so they pose a threat to cats as well. Be aware and keep the purry friends safe.Â

#see but ok #this is sUPER telling of castielâs character#iâve seen a bunch of meta posts recently about how#âcas isnât what he used to beâ #âi miss the old casâ #but look at that last gif#look at how he blinks and his shoulders drop and he exhales#this bad ass threatening thing? itâs posturing.#castiel has to throw his weight around to get what he wants#because being soft and vulnerable doesnât get you anywhere when your opponents are angels#but thatâs not who he is #not really#heâs that creature in the split second of the last gif#this lonely and tired thing that weâre seeing now #thatâs always been him#heâs lost the energy - after going through so much the last 10 years - to be the thing in the first gif#castielâs arc has always been about power. losing it and going after it.#and juggling his feelings with duty#TOO MUCH HEART HAS ALWAYS BEEN CASTIELâS PROBLEMÂ (via ozonecologne)
The thing is, I think a portion of the fandom will always want cold and emotionless Cas, and thatâs never been who he was: Â the only reason he ever behaved that way was because heaven forced him to suppress his emotions, and Naomi herself said they had to keep reprogramming him because he was so different.
Casâs strength is that heâs soft and empathetic. Â Heâs the angel who loves humanity, who cures babies, and reaches out to the people he hurt, even inadvertently (Claire, Lily Sunder, etc.) Â He keeps fighting for his friends and for God, even when heâs completely spent and it seems everyoneâs turned their backs on him, because he cares so much it almost destroys him (and it has, a couple of times.)
I think thatâs a beautiful thing. Â And though I loved season four Cas as much as anyone, Iâd never want to see him go back to where he was then.
Except the old trench coat. Â That needs to come back, pronto. Â Â

IM GONNA FUCKING PISS MY PANTS
I was watching this thing with the sound off wondering what on Earth the audio could be to cause this kind of reaction and nothing could have prepared me for this
That last comment made me watch it with the sound on and I regret it
just watched a man ice skate a whole routine to cotton eye joe while wearing denim overalls. ladies, i may be in love.

i gasped so hard at the final move that i choked on my own spit.
reading letters from 1818 is wild
âitâs that time of the year when I get colds for no apparent reason againâ have some Clairitin hon
But also weâre not becoming allergic to everything nowadays like certain white moms fear. Allergies have always existed. They were just talked about differently
Like âoh clams always ~turn my stomach~â. Or âwhat a pity he was taken from us at age 5â
âWell we didnât have all this fancy chronic illness stuff in the Olden Days, what did people do then??â
They died, Ashleigh.Â
This is a picture tracking bullet holes on Allied planes that encountered Nazi anti-aircraft fire in WW2.
At first, the military wanted to reinforce those areas, because obviously thatâs where the ground crews observed the most damage on returning planes. Until Hungarian-born Jewish mathematician Abraham Wald pointed out that this was the damage on the planes that made it home, and the Allies should armor the areas where there are no dots at all, because those are the places where the planes wonât survive when hit. This phenomenon is called survivorship bias, a logic error where you focus on things that survived when you should really be looking at things that didnât.
We have higher rates of mental illness now? Maybe thatâs because weâve stopped killing people for being âpossessedâ or âwitches.â Higher rate of allergies? Anaphylaxis kills, and does so really fast if you donât know whatâs happening. Higher claims of rape? Maybe victims are less afraid of coming forward. These problems were all happening before, but now weâve reinforced the medical and social structures needed to help these people survive. And we still have a long way to go.
This is one of my favorite anecdotes to show how clever rewording of statistics can make them say the opposite of what they mean:
Every time a state makes riding a motorcycle without a helmet illegal, the number of ER patients seriously injured in motorcycle accidents skyrockets. Every single time.
When you phrase it just right, it makes it sound like itâs more dangerous to ride a motorcycle with a helmet than without one. Of course, the reality is that before those laws, those patients were going to the morgue, not the ER.
That also reminds me of a story from world war 1 where the soldiers started to take their helmets off because more soldiers would come back injured while wearing a helmet. Thatâs because if they didnât have a helmet they died.
hey this cultural mindset of "working out/exercise is painful and exhausting and if it isnt you're doing it wrong and are a weak willed awful weakling" is like....bad. actually.
not only does society make physical health some kinda goddamn moral virtue, they then shame people who decide to be more physically healthy and just starting out for not doint it to the proper "push it sweat and hurt and ache!" performance level of the beautiful muscular people sweating and "giving their all (unlike YOU)" in gym commercials and "fitspo" all the fuckin time
THIS
Some of the best workout advice I've ever read was @ofgeography saying "run until it's no longer fun".
Not when you can't do it anymore, but just until you aren't enjoying it, and then stop and walk.
And it made? All the difference?
I started applying it to all my workouts "do this thing until you don't enjoy it anymore"
And I went from wanting to workout for 20 minutes to upwards of an hour and a half on my own, in the gym.
And rather than when I was with a trainer, being pushed beyond my limits and then in pain for the next fucking week, I managed to slowly push my limits, do a gradual workout, and!actually work out more than once a week when I wasnt in excruciating pain everyday!!
well meet me, mother and father, meet me down the river road and mama, you know that Iâll be there when I check in my load ainât no grave can hold my body down
