You might have noticed that I’m a fan of the enemies-to-lovers trope. I’m not much of a fan of the opposite lovers-to-enemies trope, but sometimes it’s done well, and the emotion communicated in this scene really nails it.

For context, Vladimir Sokov (the Red Lantern) has just saved his ex-boyfriend, Alan Scott (the Green Lantern), from villains by blowing them up.

And, the “it” that Vladimir is referring to in the last page is Alan’s first-ever green light construct: the shackles to restrain his ex-boyfriend as he is sent to prison.
