Hello wonderful people running this Guild Wars 2 blog! Been seeing posts about gold commissions being a bannable offense, do you know if this is true? Can we get a source or clarification to this issue?

Hi there! I'm sorry for the confusion and concern. Here's a message from the team: "We've received some questions about this today based on an official response given through Support, and so we want to clarify that our policies on real-money trading as laid out in the Terms of Service and Code of Conduct have not changed at all. We have no intention of banning people just for advertising services like these.

However, we have no way to identify why you’re trading in-game currency with other players, and that means we can’t guarantee that if you’re making a large number of high value gold trades to other players that you will not be identified by our anti-RMT measures as engaging in potential RMT activity. We also can’t take action against any players who scam you out of currency or services you’ve arranged with them when you make out of game trades. For those reasons, this isn't something we can give our official stamp of approval to, and you are doing it at your own risk."

With Halloween coming up, that means my annual Lab runs are coming soon! For those who are unfamiliar, let me explain a bit, because this is a little important:

Mad King’s Labyrinth is a bit like a boss rush! Players are tossed into a map with a bunch of Halloween doors that release mobs and bosses upon being opened. There is also an extra boss known as the Labyrinthine Horror or “Steve” that spawns randomly throughout the Labyrinth who will run around the map in a loop and attack players. 

When in a squad, please let the running commander open the doors! This is just polite to begin with, but it also can help prevent getting overwhelmed by too many bosses and mobs. I try to focus on taking out the Lab Horror before opening any more doors, otherwise if he shows up during a boss fight you’re more or less screwed. 

TLDR; Please follow your commander’s instructions! Don’t press F near doors, and be respectful!

Weeklong Bonus Event: Fractal Rush!

Bringing back something tangible from the chaos of the Mists is always fun—unless it’s a Champion Branded Riftstalker—and next week you’ll earn even more rewards.

From September 29 to October 6, completing Fractals of the Mists will award Sense of Community Trophies. Trade your trophies in to Fractal Researchers outside asura gates leading to the Mists to contribute to the community goal. Participants will receive more Bonus Boxes of Goods for progressing the goal to higher tiers.

It’s a great time for veteran players and new fractal explorers alike to play together as a community and get extra rewards. We are pretty sure these changes to the Mists won’t destabilize anything important, so enjoy yourself!

Date and Time: From 10:00 a.m. Pacific Time on September 29 to 10:00 a.m. Pacific Time on October 6 (UTC-7)

Gameplay Variant: Earn Sense of Community Trophies for completing fractals and trade them to Fractal Researchers to progress the community goal.
