Intro Post

Hey there, because I'm too lazy to figure out how html coding works I'm just gonna make an about post here and pin it! That way people on mobile can see it too. ^^

So hey, my name is Charlie, I am over 18, I go by any pronouns, and likes and follows come from my main- @candycannibal ! I've been playing gw2 since 2012 and for that entire time sylvari have been my favorite race and sometimes a special interest. I especially love the nightmare court because I'm an edgy little goth who loves villains a lot. Many of my sylvari ocs are nmc, because I enjoy writing stories with conflict and finding bright spots in suffering- but anyway.

My main cannon commander is actually a dreamer, her name is Cuimhne (pronounced cuv-nee), and usually when I make posts about the commander I'm talking about her. I haven't posted about her much but I'm trying to get back into putting my own stuff on this blog since I mostly reblog other people's posts. Idk.

If you ever need help with something in game and don't have many people to reach out to I'm pretty good at stuff, I can two man most dungeon story modes and I'm fully geared for t4 fractals, raiding, and strike missions. I also love jumping puzzles and replaying the 1-80 personal story so, yknow. I'm around!

Still thinking about the contrast between Kralkatorrik's "Nothing terrifies an Elder Dragon. Not even death." and then Soo-Won's "Can I confess something, little one? I am afraid to die".

I don't have any coherent words but I just want to yell about those two little bits of dialogue because man they are good. You have Kralkatorrik, prideful and destructive, a crystal shadow of death, proclaiming he is not afraid, and then Soo-Won, the mother of the world, countless millenia old, and she is. Something about the creator of reality as we know it, the Dragon of Life, being so vulnerable about such a mortal thing as death really gets me. I wish we'd got to see the other Dragons' perspectives on death, especially Zhaitan.

Okay, so as is pointed out in the notes elsewhere, these are different wings than the Rainbow Macaw wings. They're articulated and do the really fun flappy flappy when you jump. So even if you think these look familiar and you already have them, it doesn't hurt to log in and check!

I did a few quick dye edits to show how the color bands stack. Pls note that this is just me grabbing from the dyes I have quickly. If you have more dyes than I do and put more time into it you may find shades you like better.

But that's how most actual bird wings work, too, and the way these wings fold up and move the colors are quite visible all around.

Guild Wars 2 is one of the few games that combines things just right to make me really emotional. Something about this particular event gets me at least a little bit every time I do it too, so I figured I'd draw about it. I cry more like Moxxie here. Big tears and big expressions.

trahearne has literally never read as a 25 year old to me. and i guess in the context of sylvari he WAS literally the oldest dude of the species at the time so interpretation can kind of go both ways but outside of that he's always been the burdened-by-his-past-failings 40-something year old in my mind. young scholar with a nigh insurmountable destiny? no. that's the melancholic middle-aged former hero whose help we need to put together a team for one last ride.

I've always parsed the sylvari as basically being born as a very naive 18 year old and then aging from there.

You just KNOW at some point mid romo time with Caithe, Faolain bit into her cat tail and got a mouth full of seeds and it ruined the whole mood as she hacked them up like a cat does a hair ball
