You may know that 'Alecto' (Αληκτώ) as a name translates to Ceasless, as in 'merciless' or 'implacatable', etc etc. Coming from the mythological Fury. A-lecto. Un-ending.

And 'pause' (παύση) is a word. A greek word in origin.

Therefore, Αληκτόπαυση (Alectopause) is a perfectly understandable to any fluent speaker word, that means "Unending-Pause". Have a fun one with it

“Death first to vultures and scavengers” Harrow says to the third house. The same house where, barely days later, the third necromancer will kill, consume, and feed off the dead soul of her cavalier. She will tear apart his soul and destroy his body and then eat whatever is left of use. Just like a vulture to roadkill.

One of my favorite little bits of the Locked Tomb is that Harrow thinks a sword hates her so she hates it back which you might think is Harrow being Harrow but it DOES. The sword hates her fucking guts.

It’s not that Gideon is dumb and Harrow is smart. It’s not that Harrow is smart and Gideon is smart in a different way. It’s that they both have their own unique blindspots that rival those of 18-wheelers and they are racing down Stubborn Highway to see who can get to the Confident Idiot Baby Convention first. Wheels are falling off. Other cars are swerving. They are flirting via CB radio.

Harrow would never call her parents abusive or evil. She understands the choices they made and certainly couldn’t think of anything better.

Yet when she imagines her parents alive she imagines her father stripping her naked and whipping her half to death. She broke open the tomb at ten because she was suicidal and also thought about opening the oxygen vaults. She responds so so badly to John when he tries to be a parental figure to her.

she’s stuck in this intense level of double think where she’s so devoted to her family and society, yet somewhere deep down knows how horrible her world and system is. Since infancy it’s been drilled into her that she owes them. Owes them greatness. Owes them renewal. She has no identity outside of the ninth.

They talked about burying her in 200 graves, One for every child the sacrificed but not a grave for the actual living breathing child in front of them.

When John tells her he wishes she was his daughter, "your end appeared in the form of a grown adult telling you that they might have liked you for their own." (ch 37)

When Abigail gives her one of the Lyctoral notes she has found in Canaan House, Harrow immediately focuses on her hands - and "her most vivid memory of her mother was of her hands guiding Harrow’s" (ch 3) - and is astonished that Abigail seems to be giving her something valuable without wanting anything from her in return.

She has intense reactions to both of them trying to touch her: John's touch makes her think of her parents telling her to kill herself and Harrow flinches away when Abigail tries to comfort her after she has disclosed her schizophrenia. She accepts Abigail's touch only as the bubble is collapsing, after Abigail has made it clear she is willing to risk the total obliteration of her own soul to ensure that Harrow lives.
