There are 212 cis Democrats who were elected to the 119th Congress. You can literally contact any of them with a level of friendliness appropriate to their record on trans rights to let them know you'd appreciate a public statement of their support for Representative-elect McBride and willingness to work with trans colleagues in general. This would be a hell of a lot more productive than continuing to discourse about whether or not you approve of how a trans woman is handling harassment from her soon-to-be coworkers who are professional transphobes.

You can contact Republican reps too and actually depending on your district it's not a bad idea to send them a "normal people who live here are fine with trans people actually" message.

It’s crazy how it takes 20 years to make a Wicked movie and once they do, it comes out just after Trump’s reelection. The stripping of minority rights, rollback of progress, and intentional demonization of activists are such central themes in that story, and here we are, watching queer people/immigrants/women/people of color/etc being slowly stripped of their rights under conservative regimes. Personally, watching Dr. Dillamond’s firing seemed analogous to deportation of immigrants or firing/silencing of queer teachers. And then the fact that another core theme is the way the government constructs propaganda to make a mediocre con man look like a god!! And all this is shown to be horrifyingly and objectively wrong!! Absolutely insane timing.

Happy theatrical release day for Wicked! I was able to watch it last night and I bawled my eyes out. I have waited so long for a film adaptation and I loved the performances from the cast. I put the soundtrack on the next day and I am STILL crying. So anyway, I thought I'd share some interior art from the two Little Golden Books I illustrated. I am so chuffed to see the books being promoted so much especially since this is a musical that is so near and dear to my heart 💚🩷
