med school treasures

okay.. so I know. I've been MIA for quite a while now. Between sickness, throwing up, med school, pretending to study for exams, and violating many rectum and vagina models with speculums and such, my blogging has had to take a back seat. 

so let me recap what I've been learning....

Did you know that they have recently discovered over 600 unidentified bacterial species that live in our belly button? With all the lint and shower gel that accumulates there, how can so much other stuff survive?

Did you also know that there is a type of OCD disorder called Trichotillomania in which people pluck hair from their scalp and bodies and INGEST it? Did anyone ever stop and ask.. maybe they think they are a cat..maybe they were one in their past life and don't know any better. maybe it tastes good?

Did you also know that when a woman is 15 weeks pregnant.. the baby has fused eyelids but can sense light if its shone at the tummy which will cause the baby to move away from the source of light... yea i know.. its not as awesome as those other two but c'mon.. its the miracle of life.

Did you also know that I've used up 15 minutes of my life writing this very informative post when I have 4 finals coming up in the next 2 weeks? WHAT!?! i work better under procrastination pressure!!!! don't judge.

Toe socks

I love them. I wear them almost every day during school, at home, and anywhere else I can. They are perfect because they keep me warm while still allowing adequate room for toe wiggling. I mean...c'mon. Yall know what I mean about feeling restricted, claustrophobic in regular socks. 

What makes them even better is that I can always wear them with my flip flops/sandals allowing me to keep up the brown tradition of FOBiness by wearing socks with sandals. DO people point and probably snicker behind me? YEA! but guess what.. their toes are screaming for wiggling and blood supply while mine are toasty and free.

today I'm sporting very hip and funky pink and white strip with monkeys on it socks which just scream fashion must have for spring. Yall are just late on this fashion trend. You shall see.

I miss my husband alot today... today I miss being in our apartment with our badly painted streaky wall.... I miss making bun kabab (indian sanwiches) for lunch on the weekend and blasting my music while I clean and he zones me out with his Call of duty. Today I miss calling in sick to work so I can take care of his broken ankle. Today I miss our impromptu sushi and movie dates. Today I miss him. Today I need him so much closer.

Big Day

OCD

I'm sitting in a psych lecture about anxiety disorders and I have just been diagnosed by the professor as having OCD?!?! what!!!

Its not OCD just because I get angry when people ruin my vacuum lines

                                                   OR

I can't wear socks because they don't allow the adequate wiggling of my toes

                                                   OR I must clean as soon as I enter my house

                                                   OR

I have to turn a shoe over if its laying on it's side whether its mine or not

                                                   OR

I constantly shake my leg/foot no matter where I am. (maybe its RLS.. did anyone think of that instead of telling me i have OCD)

                                                   OR

I will now obsess and try to think of all my "obsessive" tendencies for the rest of the day..

All this doesn't mean I have OCD... it just means I like clean things and wiggly toes.
