I decided to take a break from social media last fall and have not gone back, because I was using it too much and it wasn’t making me feel good with all the comparisons to others lives and the way most people only show the good stuff on Facebook and Insta. So I came back here for the first time in years because I thought it would be a safe place for me to exist without folks who I really know in real life and it brought me back to pretty pictures and Taylor updates all the time and just gave me a space to be vulnerable. I cannot express my disappointment about finding out how not safe this space actually is for me. Once again I have to censor myself and vulnerability isn’t an option.
