All right, y'all, here we go! First content-based master post. This is where you’ll find out what you need to know about finding the information you want for Criminal Minds.
So, I’m a nerd, and the way I have information organized for myself is in a gigantic spreadsheet. The episodes are broken down by season, and for every single episode, I looked (and continue to look) for the following things: episode number and title, location(s) that the team visits besides FBI headquarters in Quantico, recurring characters featured (this is anyone who shows up in two or more episodes), main cast changes (introductions, departures, deaths, and changes from recurring cast to main cast), unsubs, named victims, whether the episode is character-centric, plotlines/character arcs featured, and bookend quotes. (Edit 1/31/19: I will also be including the methods used by the unsubs, because I haven’t already made things hard enough for myself.)
If you would like to request that something be added to this list of information, send me an ask, and I’ll see what I can do for you! The only caveat is that I will not be listing anyone besides unsubs and victims who is not a recurring character. That is too much for me, and if you are curious about that one police officer that shows up once, I highly recommend using the show’s IMDb page! They provide all the cast information for the episode, down to unnamed background characters, and if you google “criminal minds (episode name)” the IMDb page for the episode is one of your first results.
As far as behind the scenes trivia goes, my knowledge is pretty limited to the wiki page, so I have not included any of that. I would be happy to introduce more trivia if someone knows that sort of thing and could fill me in!
