another wednesday another wip for @itafushi-week

technically i've shared this one before but i moved some things around to fit the prompts [insert scheming emoji]

Maybe it’s the alcohol, but his suggestion comes out rushed—and kind of pathetic. “Meet me in the bathroom? Five minutes?” Yuuji didn’t realize he was serious until the words were out of his mouth. It’s probably the dumbest idea he’s had in relation to their little secret, and they’ve had plenty of close calls over the past year—mostly Yuuji’s fault. He expects Megumi to shut it down instantly, maybe even laugh in his face, make a comment about how the train ride isn’t that long, but instead he looks like he’s actually considering it. In not his proudest attempt at seduction, he slides his hand further along Megumi’s torso, the lower plane of his stomach exposed to the night air just so Yuuji can grip his waist firmly. He rocks his hips forward again, moving Megumi’s body with his own. Maybe a bit more manipulation than seduction. Yuuji risks it and sucks the skin over Megumi’s pulse point. The response is immediate and sharp, chipped nails digging into his bicep. “Fushi…”

basically the best thing any character can do is decide they don't want to be afraid anymore - in fact they never want to be afraid of anything ever again - and take action so drastic they fail to realise that this too is a decision motivated by fear. or to account for the Consequences of that.

another month, another full month of reading stats

rambling and graphs below the cut :)

we'll start with fic again because i think i'm WAY down this month even though the # is higher than april. granted i am about to binge read sincerity is scary again because....great fic but i only read the updates this month </3 do not let the word count fool you. also not a lot of variation this month LMAO its all itfs, which....fork found in kitchen.

for trad pub, i am down on the # of books this month, but i have more pages read (not by much), because i was more consistent with how many pages i was reading a day. honestly a few of the books i read this month were a SLOG to get through (i'm looking at you mothers and other strangers. i wanted to like it more than i did), but i also really enjoyed the ones i did read. the best little motel in texas is one of the funniest books ive ever read while also being a GREAT mystery novel, love it and can't wait for the sequel. the first game changers book was good, scott/kip in the book is way better than their show counterparts it's actually kinda sad. i'll probably read the first hollanov book this month (happy pride!). dont ask what my star ratings mean. i barely understand why i rate books what i do. even with books i dont like i hesitate to give them less than 3 stars because i spent time reading it and dont want it to be a waste. im indecisive.

i also started a personal project this month of a kind of reading journal? basically just a collection of my thoughts after reading + quotes or whatever i pulled from the text. like junk journal meets book report i guess (which was inspired by fellow travelers, loved that book). i wouldnt look too closely at those unless you want spoilers for circe by madeline miller.
