Based on the reports Illya was able to find… Yeah, finding the people who possessed these powers wouldn’t be easy. Tracing them to their most probable location: The city near that forest the monster was said to have dwelled in, was the easy part. But cities are big, and these people have no intention of putting their abilities on display for the public.

But she had eventually adopted a different strategy. Maybe if she threw around her own ability enough, the ones she’s looking for would notice her first.

Illya may not have been able to see through the Concealing Eyes, but the one who held it could likely see her, eyes flashing red as a food stand owner just hands her a crepe free of charge, before walking over to a vending machine. She makes eye contact with the man fishing for pocket change near it, making barely legible chatter with him, and as if under a spell, he inserts a coin into the machine, a purple can making a THUNK! sound as it dispenses at the bottom.

Kido had been getting ready to lower her ability just enough to buy a snack from a store owner when she noticed a strange girl with eyes that had turned red. She was a little hesitant to approach the other but knew she probably had to. To recruit her to the Dan? To question what happened?

She was going to hate this either way. She didn’t want to lower her ability at all but she’d likely need to, or else she wouldn’t be able to talk quite as easily. Moving towards the other she cleared her throat slightly.

“Excuse me, can I speak to you for a second?”

Kido had been out doing a small shopping trip. With the holidays coming up she had tried her best to save up some extra money to get gifts for the members of the Dan. A small sigh left her lips as she sat down on a bench.

“Just need to get a few more gifts...” She paused and looked at her list. She had agreed to pick up a few gifts for the younger members and that was all she had left. “I hadn’t bothered to ask what they liked. Huh...”

Counting out the money she had left she had decided that her next purchase would be a snack for herself.

Setting down all the baked goods, Kido took a step back to admire her work. Hopefully Shintaro would like the birthday gift... If not...
