He feels Alice grab his arm, and he tenses up. Oh goddess, heâs not sure if thereâs any hope of escaping now. He tries very, very carefully to get his arm away from the clutches of certain doom, but to no avail.Â
âI donât know what youâre talking about, Alice. Just because weâre both in the Vanguard doesnât mean we have a lot to catch up on.â Well, they probably did. If Richter wasnât with the Vanguard at the moment, there was a 100% chance he was avoiding Alice. Even when he was attending Vanguard events, he was probably avoiding her.
Ohoho, no. He was not getting away so quickly. Regardless of where in time he was, there was no way he would get away with just a âhow do you do.â Not with how things ended up going the way we did.Â
âOn the contrary!â She adjusts her grip on the fabric of his outfit. âI think we have loads to catch up on~! After all, we parted on such sweet words as you went down deep into the Ginnungagap. I was worried sick about you! I thought the demons would get you!â
iâm here. my laptop was out of commission for a bit
iâll get to replying when i get home from work
flaminggayscientist:
Itâs weird. Richter canâŠalmost feelâŠhis soul leaving his body every time Alice opens her fucking mouth. He canât even say itâs that weird. He should expect this. He made a pact with demons, but that doesnât leave him entirely unconvinced that either: Alice is a demon or sheâs one of the specific ones he made a pact with to bring back Aster but like, sheâs taken it upon herself to make his life miserable.
Maybe sheâs actually an angel in disguise, trying to make him rethink his plan to bring back Aster by making him so goddamn miserable. Or maybe sheâs just a half-elf. (Richter was definitely leaning towards demon.)
âYeahâŠUhâŠnot too long ago. Iâm managing really well on my own though, so Iâm sure you have a victiâer, business to tend to.â
Like finding a new victim to harass with her demonic ways.
âI wouldnât want to take up your time, Alice. So itâs been great catching up, but Iâll just goââ
She grabs the fabric of his sleeve just as he talks about leaving, gripping his upper arm like a vice. Thereâs no way heâs letting him go. Not like this.
âNonsense! Whyâre you leaving so soon? After all weâve been through? We have so much to catch up on~! You simply canât leave yet.â She giggles, her eyes glinting dangerously. One way or another, sheâs keeping him here.
âI turned my ankle over during the earthquakes, and it huuuuuuurts. At least I escaped before my house was damaged, but now I canât waaaaalk!â
Sheâs just fine.Â
Sector One has been struck by a massive earthquake, opening the streets all the way down to District Alpha. Pariah are active on the streets. There have been reports of lighting strikes and fires. Citizens are urged, for their own safety, to stay inside. More details coming as the situation develops.
ooc: nightmare knight is making a big mess in sector one, letâs just keep this between us, right pals
weâre talking big, big earthquakes and a magical storm, also pariah are doing their thing
dualblossomspinner:
{â} She didnât like how Alice was inching closer, but she didnât want to back up. No, she couldnât back down- but still⊠did Alice somehow not know? That made no sense. But her being alive made no sense- augh, she was going to drive herself crazy trying to think this one through!
ââŠ.â Well, if Alice didnât know, Marta didnât want to tell her- Alice already hated her enough, no reason to add fuel to the fire. âWhat do you want, Alice? If youâre still looking for Ratatoskâs core, I donât have it anymore.â
She starts laughing, covering her mouth with her hand. âI donât care whether or not you have it anymore, Martmart. Itâs not like itâd do me any good here! Though, I suppose it deprives me of a way to kill you.â
âDid you just get here, then? Thereâs no way that your constant need for attention wouldnât have crossed my path by now if that wasnât the case.â There was no reason to start something beyond throwing some verbal daggers at Marta, at least for now. For once, Alice was interested in playing the long game and seeing how this would play out.
ninjaenthusiast:
Ingrate!? Wow, she was definitely mad. Almost as mad as the teachers when heâs caught setting fires â no, this actually felt scarier, being in a strange place and accosted by a strange girl in strange clothes.
Though to be fair, he did deserve it. Guilt rises like gas in his stomach as she points out her fly-paper-inflicted wound. Girls really hate it if their face gets messed up, right? Should he prostrate before her and beg forgiveness like one would to a deity?
âU-Uhh, umm, I was catching flies f-for my future pet frogs, you see, that would be their favorite snack a-andâŠâ
He bows his head and squeezes his eyes shut. âI-If you wish to strike in retaliation, allow me to meditate into defense mode so that my skull may not break at first blow! S-SoâŠ!âÂ
âYour future pet frogs? So you havenât even gotten them yet?â She narrows her eyes, squinting as if somehow that was going to make her understand it better. It probably wasnât going to help at all.Â
Alice takes a step forward, raising her hand to strike him, before stopping. Her lower eyelid twitches, before her hand lowers. Something about kicking a willing participant wasnât as fun. Itâs like kicking someone when theyâre down.
She sighs. âYeah. Go ahead. Donât keep me waiting now, or itâs more than just your skull youâll have to worry about. âĄâ
flaminggayscientist:
Should he be happy it was another half elf, and one he knew no less? Maybe. Was he still caught up on the fact it was Alice? Definitely. It was bad enough he was working with her to achieve his own ends, but to end up in a strange new place with her here?
âOh. Itâs you. HelloâŠAlice.â
He made an attempt to force a polite, if not bordering on pleased tone. Instead he was pretty sure it sounded like he was about to die at any moment.
Her lucky day? Martelâif anything it was his unlucky day. Goddess why did it have to be Alice? She acted so buddy-buddy with him, but that didnât make him trust her any more. He knew what she could do with a riding crop. He just had to force himself through a conversation for information, and then hopefully he could get as far the fuck away from her as possible.
âIâmâŠsurprised you wouldnât be happier to see Decus or someone. Have you been here long?â
Nothing truly cheered Alice up quite like feeling Richterâs soul leave his body every time she spoke. She didnât realize how much she missed it until he showed up; others could compete, but there was no replacing the real thing.
Not even him mentioning Decus could stop her right now. âGoddess, no, youâre far better than that waste of space is. Donât ever put yourself down like that, Richter! Itâs quite unbecoming of you!âÂ
Again, she giggles, twirling some of her hair around her finger. âAbout a month ago, I think. Not too long, really. Did you just get here or something~?â

{â} Of all the possible things Marta figured she could have seen here, she wasnt one of them. After all, this was impossible- Alice was dead.
âY-You- thatâs- how are you alive?!â
That was unfair. Alice⊠her life had been hard, maybe, but sheâd still done horrible things. Hell, sheâd kinda abducted Marta, and sheâd tried to kill her multiple times- but, Marta had killed Alice.
Still, if she was going to see someone whoâd died- why not Emil?
âMartmart?â
Alice stops for a moment, staring in disbelief. It seemed like it was a matter of time at this point, given how many of them were either currently here or were here at one point. But still, itâs surprising that Martaâs not even trying to run away.
How cute.
âOh my goodness!â Alice starts giggling, inching closer and closer to Marta. âI canât believe youâre here, Martmart! Itâs so good to see you!â She stops a few inches away, tilting her head to the side. âOf course Iâm alive, you silly! Why would I not be? In fact, Iâm always surprised that you havenât died!â Of course, Alice knows why she wouldnât be. She remembers all too well. But sheâs looking to milk this for all itâs worth.
pacifisthealer:
Jude had been minding his own business, when of course, someone asks him for help. And being Jude, of course he canât turn her down. A cafe? Hadnât he seen a cafe around here somewhere, maybe on his way to work? Wasnât he on his way to a clinic anyway? But she askedâŠsoâŠ
âAh, absolutely Iâd be happy to help.â
Jude youâre such a do-gooder.
âA cafe you said? What was the name of it? Iâve seen some cafes from time to time, perhaps one was the one you were looking for. It can be pretty hard to find things in this sector, though.â
âYou think I actually took the time to actually look at the name? Give me a break! Maybe if I knew it wasnât going to be here today, Iâd maybe have put in the effort to remember it!â No, she definitely would not have.
Alice groaned, tapping her foot impatiently. âHonestly, who thought it was a good to have a district that moves around constantly? Thatâs no way to encourage good business!â After a second, she made another noise, shaking her head. âWhere are you going, anyway? You look like you have somewhere to be.â Maybe thatâll be more fun than looking for some dumb cafe.

Indeed, the gem was a deer in the headlights. However, this gem had no idea what that meant, but there was no doubt that they were lost and in need of help! Some of the things the female said had glazed over the gemâs head entirely but they were very aware that they offered assistance. And called them cute!! Thatâs plus points in this gemâs head.
âUm⊠yes, actually⊠Where am I?âÂ
Ah, good, they werenât immediately put off by her advances. A good start (?).
âWere you sleeping during the initial message, silly? This is Hive City, where all your dreams come true~! Oooor something like that.â She shrugged, scratching her cheek. âYouâre definitely not home, wherever that is for you. That much is for certain.â
It wasnât as though being ripped away from the place he was familiar with and being thrust somewhere else instead was new to Richter. He certainly wished it wasnât, but that point was irrelevant as instead of finding himself at an academy, he was now in a city.
But it couldnât possibly be true what they said, could itâŠ? AnâŠexperiment run by scientists?
After all that time spent alone, Richter met Aster. He had Aster until two years ago, and now certainly wasnât the time to be stuck in a damn city when he had a certain demon lord to be hunting down andâ
âOh hellââ
That voice. Heâd recognize it anywhere. Quickly turning, his fears were confirmed when he saw the small stature and signature white clothing of Alice. He did not want to deal with her today. Not right here, not right now. Heâd take any familiar faceâhell, even that kid heâd metâEmil? But Alice? No.
@conceivesfrenzy
Well, well well. Look who the cat dragged in. Alice surmised it was a matter of time before someone else she knew was dropped in here like a sack of bricks -- somehow, Richter wasnât high on the list of people that she expected to show up around here. But given that gruff attitude and the telltale mana signature of a half-elf, there was no doubt that he was here.
âRichter! Over here!â She jumped up, waving a few times to get his attention. Once heâs recognized her and he freezes up, she takes that as her cue to saunter over.Â
She giggles once she gets within armâs distance of him. âSo youâre here too, huh? It must be my lucky day! I donât think Iâve ever been so happy to see you, you know!â
Alice realized it could always be worse; it couldâve been Marta.
thomcruz:
âTo that pun, I say NAY!â
âWhy the long face? You donât appreciate my witty humor~?â
âHey! ... Quit horsing around.â
