I know using ‘it’s funny ‘cause it’s queer’ is an incredibly lame punchline, but watching gender/sexuality subversive comedy is also such a big ol’ power trip sometimes
like, canonically bugs bunny is not stopped by goddamn anything, not rabbit season or codified institutions or the fucking jail cell of gender binary perimeters
he’s basically a chaotic neutral trickster, but damn if he isn’t near invisible to the point even sexuality norms can’t fuking mark this dude, lit

How come we can't just have villains anymore
What if the evil fashion designer wanted to skin puppies because she was evil? What if the guy that stabbed a bunch of teenagers did that because he wanted to stab a bunch of teenagers? What if the evil witch wanted to cook and eat children because she was--you guessed it!--evil? Why's everybody gotta have some tragic backstory for sympathy points? Boo! I want to see some unrepentant bastard do bastardly things and, perhaps, a woman covered in blood, also.
Everyone thinks their villain can be goob from meet the robinsons. Your villain will never be goob from meet the robinsons. Just make them evil.
Also, the best villains in films are the ones that do not have a pitiful reason to be, Joker, Voldemort (if you've read the books that kid was a creep from the beginning), Sauron, Gru, Green Goblin, Venom, the guy from No es país para viejos, and many others. Manymanyotheeerrss

The Island (Russian movie with English subtitles)
The Island" is a 2006 Russian biographical film about a 20th century Eastern Orthodox monk. Pyotr Mamonov, who plays the lead character, formerly a rock musician in the USSR, converted to Eastern Orthodoxy in the 1990s and lives now in an isolated village. Film director Pavel Lungin said about him that “to a large extent, he played himself.” Mamonov was first very hesitant to play in the film, but then was urged by his confessor to play the character. After the filming, one of the movie crew staff decided to stay on the island and live there as a hermit.

Witty Street Art
Sydney-based street artist Michael Pederson’s creates quirky street art that is so subtle that it’s easy to walk past it without even knowing it’s there. He encourages people to take a closer look at their streets and neighbourhoods, and second guess some signs. “I think we travel through urban space without really seeing it most of the time,” Pederson told CityLab. “I like the idea of interfering with the overly familiar background blur … Ideally with something a passerby might see out of the corner of an eye.”
