[REVIEW] Detox White Glutathione Supplement

Here is my first ever review about a glutathione brand called Detox White. The product I used in this review was sent to me as a gift from Ageless Beauty Potions.

MY CONFESSIONS:

Photo was taken under same lighting conditions. Before photo shows my sunkissed skin with noticeable red spots.  After photo shows a lighter complexion. Of course, while taking this supplement it is important to avoid prolonged exposure to sumlight to achieve maxiumum effects.

Will I repurchase it?

OMG! It’s been a really really really long time since I posted here in my blog. I was busy on my academics so I opted to take a hiatus. But I did not take a break on discovering stuff to help you achieve a healthier well-being.

[REVIEW] CLEAN & CLEAR: Facial Cleansers

School time is fast approaching (at least for us who have been affected by the academic calendar shift). Back are the days of tons of school stuff, stress, and harsh environment and pollution from commuting. I am actually looking forward to school but not the conditions that may take toll to my skin. As for now, I have a good skin condition with my current skin regimen. Speaking of regimen, do you what is the most important part of it. If your answer is CLEANSING then you are right! If you are taking efforts to apply make up (BB cream, sunscreen, foundation, powder etc.) everyday, then you should double the effort you exert in the cleansing part. No matter how effective the different products you are slathering on your skin, you won't maximize the results if you have still dirt, oil and grime lingering on your skin. This unwanted things are oftentimes the culprit of pimples, enlarged pores and dullness. So to avoid this problems, I will be introducing you to a product that promises to clean skin without drying, the FACIAL CLEANSERS from CLEAN & CLEAR.

Color & Texture: Red transparent gel with red and pink Bursting Beads. Mild foaming.

Consistency: Runny

Scent: Fruity Berry

Active Ingredients: Glycerin (moisturization, water retention, anti-bacterial) , Salicylic Acid (antibacterial ingredient), Rubus idaeus (Raspberry) Extract (antimicrobial and soothing properties, reduces inflammation, calming irritation and toning the skin.  Rich in antioxidant vitamins C and A)

Contents: 100 ml

Put it on a Test: "Clean Me Edition~"

To give you a view on the cleansing power of these gel cleansers, I conducted a test by putting different kinds of makeup that are usually use on the face.

I slather some BB Cream, CC Cream, Eyeliner, Lip and Cheek Tint, and Eye shadow on the back of my wrist. I blended it well and let it stay for 5 minutes to settle each makeup product on my skin.Then I put each drop of each variant on the it (from L-R: Essentials Foaming Face Wash, Brightening Lemon, Energizing Berry).

I lather and massage the gel on the stained area until the product dissolved. I rinsed it under running water and voila!

No trace of makeup can be seen after washing with Clean and Clear gel cleanser. This only proves that each of them has an equally superb and excellent cleansing power.

My Confession:

I am hooked with these cleansers! For one month, I religiously used each of them alternately as the basic part of my regimen. I love how these cleansers thoroughly cleanse skin in a gentle way. For first time users, the mild foaming (or nothing at all) of the cleansers might be underwhelming. But no worries, you won't be disappointed on the it's excellent cleansing power. In every wash, I didn't feel any tightening of skin, meaning that it does not dry and strip the skin's natural oil. My skin feels moisturized in every wash. For the "won't clog pores" claim of the products, I think it is true indeed for I didn't experience any breakout or two while using it. Not to mention that it can really calm redness and pimple gets diminished quickly. The packaging is simple yet convenient that you can bring it anytime and anywhere you go. If there's one downside of these products, I think it would be the "Bursting Beads". 

Based on experience, it didn't burst or whatsoever. You need to thoroughly massage it on your skin so that it will be dissolved. I'm quite pissed with the beads because it takes time and effort to be dissolved.  But over all, these cleansers are great and a must have in a skincare regimen.

Pick of the Prince:

  My personal favorite is the Brightening Lemon variant. I really love the refreshing lemon scent and it really brightens skin after a wash. This variant is perfect for those who have dull skin.

If you have tired and fatigued skin, the Energizing Berry is the one for you. And if you want a cleanser that doesn't have beads or anything but still does the job then grab the Essentials Foaming Face Wash.

LAST CONFESSIONS:

-Non drying, moist skin after use

Cons

-the beads may annoy you because it is quite hard to dissolve

Clean & Clear Facial Cleansers are really must-haves in a skincare regimen. It truly does it's job well so it deserve a perfect score of 5/5!

Will I repurchase it?

YES~ I really commend these cleansers. I will definitely buy these especially the lemon variant!~ I LOVE IT!~

[REVIEW] RUCY'S VANITY: Gleamy Whitening BB Cream

My blog went hiatus for 5 months (sorry I’m loaded with personal stuff: school, stress and the likes) But, I’m still happy to know that you’ve been reading my old blog entries (YEY~ 14,000+ visits). THANK YOU (Xie Xie, Gomawo) for the support and continue to support my blog as well~ ^^

So today, marks a comeback post to this blog. I will be featuring an affordable yet effective Korean cosmetic brand, RUCY’S VANITY.  If you are an avid follower of my blog you might remember my first feature about this brand here.

Last April, I was lucky to win in one of their Facebook contest and had a chance to meet the people behind these awesome brand,

As a prize, I was able to take home these babies:

Aimed with the mission of providing quality yet affordable Korean cosmetics for Filipinos, Rucy’s Vanity quickly gained popularity through online selling and marketing of the products. I am an avid user of their products since 2012 and BB cream was one of the first I bought from them.

So now, I will be featuring their own version of the most beloved and raved product of all times, the hit product that can give instant flawless skin (“drum roll”, please!): BB CREAM (aka Blemish Balm, Beauty Balm).

FIRST CONFESSIONS:

A complex formula BB Cream that promises 5 SKIN SOLUTION EFFECTS: UV Protection (SPF 20 PA +++), Anti-Wrinkle, Whitening, Make-up Base and Foundation.

PRICE & AVAILABILITY:

Affordably priced at Php 200 (the cheapest BB cream I have known) which can easily bought either online (through their Facebook page here) or directly at Rucy’s Vanity office located at Unit 1706 Antel Global Corporate Center, Julia Vargas Ave. Ortigas Center, 1605 Pasig

PACKAGING:

The product comes in a glossy pink box printed with the information, ingredients and manufacturing date and place of it.

The glossy pink tube-type packaging contains 30 ml of BB cream. To obtain the BB cream, all you have to do is to unscrew the white cap and squeeze the product out of the tube. But be careful in putting to much pressure so that you won’t have any mishap. This type of packaging is very hygienic for it limits contact with your skin and the environment (that is loaded with foreign bodies: bacteria, dirt and dust). Despite the cheap price of the product the packaging was not compromised, it is simple yet feels and looks luxurious.

CONTENTS:

From L/R: A drop of BB Cream, Slightly blended, Well-blended

You can easily notice the tad light color of the cream that might not be suitable for dark skin but NO WORRIES cause this BB comes in two shades: (1) Natural (the one I used in this review) and (2) Oak (darker color). So you should really know your skin color to have a perfect fit of the shade.

Consistency: The product is easy to apply (not to thick nor “liquid-y”). All you need is to warm it up a little by blending so that you can perfectly apply it on your skin.

Finish: Matte and semi-dewy. This is really perfect for the oily-type skin. But overtime it tends to be oily especially in the afternoon so you should be always ready to have a powder or blotting paper to counteract the oil build up.

Ingredients: Unfortunately the product does have parabens (to lenghten the shelf life of the product) that migt be a possible carcinogen. But still it is loaded with active doses of Licorice extract(skin whitening, melanin inhibitor), Mulberry Bark extract (whitening and anti-aging), Arbutin (potent whitening ingredient), Adenosine (anti-wrinkle), Vitamin E (antioxidant), Green Tea Extract (antioxidant with high dose of Vit. C), Zinc Oxide (anti-bacterial, oil control), Shea Butter (moisturizer), Allantoin (hastens skin recovery), Hyaluronic Acid (moisturizer for plump skin).

Scent: I am not the fan of the scent. It smells like generic foundation. But nevertheless it is still tolerable.

Sun Protection: No worries of skin darkening coz it’s loaded with SPF 20 PA +++

Coverage: Medium coverage. Great for covering acne scars and blemishes. It also fights appearance of redness on skin.

PUT IT ON A TEST:

So to determine how much oil this BB cream contains, I conducted an Oil Test using a small sheet of paper. I just put a drop of BB cream and let it stand for an hour.

After an hour here is the result:

As you can see a few amount of oil was leeched out of the BB cream. This only proves that despite the matte finish it gives, it is still recommended to put a powder after using it to avoid being too oily at the end of the day.

The pros win over the cons! So I am giving this product 4.8/5. I am really recommending this BB to those who wants to cover up flaws and achieve flawless skinala Korean idols instantly.

Of course, YES! I’m really satisfied with this product and this is really a must have! You won’t regret buying for despite its affordability it still does its job well

Housed in a comprehensible, info-loaded box, the yellow tube with a white screw cap gives a simple yet convenient packaging. It will definitely give you the right amount of the cream you need once you squeeze it out. This type of packaging is really hygienic, for you won't have much direct contact with the product that might contaminate it. There is also a printed expiration date on the bottom of the box, so you'll be sure that you are consuming it on the right time.

PRODUCT SWATCH & OVERVIEW:

The white creamy texture of the product when applied on the skin instantly gives moisture making it soft and supple. Plus the cream gives a glow that boost the healthy appearance of the skin. The cream might be too moist or dewy for oily skinned people thus it is recommended to put only a little amount of it. The scent is not overpowering nor overwhelming, it is just right. Every time I use this product, It reminds me of freshly squeezed lemons!~ I used this as a make-up primer during the day because it provides a little coverage to dark spots and other blemishes. Also, it has decent amount of sun protection factor so you can be sure that you will be protected against the harmful effects of the sun. During nighttime, I also use the cream as a moisturizer after toning and cleansing. And when I wake up in the morning, a moist, glowing skin will be achieved! Thumbs up for that!

MY GARNIER LIGHT COMPLETE EXPERIENCE:

Again, I want to reiterate that whitening was not my primary reason for purchasing and using this product. After so much stress from school, late night sleeps, and exposure to air pollution from Katipunan Ave.(UghI), my acne triggered and take its toll on my skin. In my desperation, I resorted trying this product to solve my skin problem and here are some pictures of my acne development and how Garnier solve it.

BEFORE (Taken last March 2013)

As you can see on the picture above, my left cheek was filled with existing cystic acne and stubborn red marks. During those times, my skin is itchy and irritated. Also it secreted excessive sebum which made my acne condition severe and aggravated. I thought it was the end of the world for me until...

I've found this affordable product in one of the major supermarket shelves. I hesitated to try it at first for it might make my condition worse. Armed with faith and a brave heart, I decide to purchase the 20 ml tube of Garnier Light Complete in hopes of alleviating my acne problems.Then voila..

AFTER (Taken 2 weeks after continued use of Garnier Light Complete)

After 2 weeks of continued use, every morning and every night, I saw visible positive results. My acne was controlled. Acne marks was dramatically diminished. Redness and irritations subsided. And oiliness was reduced. I can't really believe that Garnier Light Complete will be the superhero that solved all of my skin problems.

But, my story doesn't stop there. I still use the product today. I admit that I can't live life without Garnier Light Complete now. It is really a staple in my skincare regimen.

[TEASER OF THE DAY] AOA's 4th Single Album "Red Motion"

AOA is raising the bar for their return even higher as they get fans' excitement up with a video teaser for their upcoming return!

The girls continue on the angelic concept in this teaser as well, dressed in all white for their return with 4th single album 'Red Motion' and song "Shaking". The girls are also shown blindfolded towards the end, leaving fans to guess at what this could possibly be about.

The MV will be released on October 10th, and the full song will be out on October 14th, so stay tuned for more details that will be coming our way! But in the meantime, check out the video teaser above!

[FEATURE] Rucy's Vanity Korean Products Purchase

Annyeong Haseyo~ Do you know the Korean Brand Rucy's Vanity? If you haven't heard it then check out their Facebook page here.

Rucy's Vanity is an authentic Korean Concept Brand which targets the Philippine markets with their wide range of products in an affordable price.

They offer BB Cream, Serums, Toners, Lotion, Lip & Eye makeup products through their online page. They formerly have kiosks at some malls around Metro Manila, but now they pulled it out and focus on online & direct selling instead. I became curious of their bestseller Whitening Serum so I opted to order and try it for myself. Also, they have introduced the latest addition to their items the CC Cream. I ordered both of them and I received them last September 25, 2013. Here's a quick shots of the products:

[REVIEW] GT Cosmetics Clarifiance with Witch Hazel Extracts

One of the product that is important for me is toner. I have oily and acne-prone skin which made me vulnerable to breakouts. So after cleansing, I need to be sure that my skin is free from any traces of excess oil & dirt. The toner that I have trusted is from GT Cosmetics which I featured on my previous post. No other than the GT Clarifiance!

This "clarifiance that does it all" is formulated with Witch Hazel Extract which is know to soothe and calm redness and skin irritations. I have been experiencing the wonders of this toner since March 2013, exactly 7 months now! Her is a proof that I really love this product:

DESCRIPTION: 

Skin cleanser and freshener with rejuvenating effect. Effectively removes deep seated dirt, make-up, dead skin, dark spots and other skin blemishes, leaving a smooth, fresh, wrinkle-free & young looking skin. Very mild and safe even to sensitive skin.

HOW TO USE:

Wash face before applying GT Clarifiance. Moisten a cotton and gently rub in face using upward circular motion. Apply in the morning & evening, once or as required.

PRICE & AVAILABILITY:

At an affordable price of Php 70, you can purchase it at any Watsons, Mercury Drug and leading supermarkets nationwide.

PACKAGING:

Nothing special. It is pack in an white translucent plastic bottle with a yellow cap in it. But the label gives enough information about the product 

CONTENTS:

The green colored fluid smells pleasant. It does not have an annoying smell which may irritate the nose. When applied on skin, it feels gentle as water. Although the product contains alcohol, it does not dry the skin after using it, an indication that it only contains a low amount of alcohol. It really feels refreshing and cooling , which reduces skin fatigue giving it a rejuvenated look. In terms of its cleaning power, I can say that it is really good. It get rid of the unwanted dirt on the skin.

VERDICT:

This product deserves a 5/5~ my overall experience while using this was really great! It only needs improvement on its packaging so that it can look more attractive to potential buyers :D
