Thinkin' about how Luz's first glyph was light

And how it was Philip's last

I just find it very interesting that it was specifically the light glyph that was (quite literally) kept from Philip, but was given to Luz first. Kinda symbolic!

He's impressed with Luz's glyph use in King's Tide too. It took him years to figure out glyph combos.

Philip sees magic as a tool. And he doesn't exactly use it in a benevolent manner.

On the other hand, Luz understands that magic is a gift from the Titan, and is so very grateful for it.

I don't know. I just like this contrast. I guess with all the Philip/Luz parallels out there, it's kinda interesting to see a very critical example of how they are so freaking different.

the way that aro/ace characters and headcanons tend to get treated in fandoms really shows how a lot of people perceive queerness purely through the lens of relationships and prioritise their ships above all else

when there’s an aro character who’s canonically not interested in romance or an ace character who’s canonically not interested in sex they’ll try to justify still shipping or creating nsfw content of them by going “aro people can still date!” or “asexuality is a spectrum!”

but when there’s a particular ship they dislike or a character who “gets in the way” of their favourite ship they’ll suddenly turn around and go “i don’t like any ships with this character bc i headcanon them as aro :/” and completely ignore that aromanticism is a spectrum

and both are really gross bc our identities end up being either erased/ignored or tokenised depending on whether those people want to make a character more or less “shippable” to suit their personal preferences
