For this project, I used cubism and Fauvism. First, I chose cubism because I really enjoy the process of this technique. I find it very relaxing to be able to doodle shapes freely and mix and match different colors with no real parameters to hold me back. I can just get lost in my thoughts and be free with my drawing. I also chose it because I have complete creative freedom to draw whatever I would like however I like it.

Second, I chose Fauvism. For this, I created a drawing of my Dada puppet. I thought this would be a really fun way to kind of incorporate both techniques, and it would be a different alternative to drawing a human. I chose bright colors for the limbs of the puppet because I feel like they bring out a lot of character in it, so I wanted them to stand out. I chose a warm orange for the head because it is fuzzy and cuddling and can comfort someone. I chose black for the duct tape portion because it is a very solid color that holds everything together. For the middle portion, I chose a mixture of bright colors because the can body really makes it stand out.

For my Surrealism Project, I decided to make some shoes/flip flops from a depleted cereal box! I thought of this idea as I was taking out the garbage for my family and saw the perfectly in tacked cereal box in the recyclables. I had my little brother, Pierce, model for me. Forgive his appearance, he had just gotten home from work!

For my puppet, I used an old Celsius can for the body. I then punctured holes in it with a pencil to use for the arms and legs. For the arms, I broke a pencil in half and inserted each half, and for the legs, I used 2 mechanical pencils. For the head, I found an old, torn-up stuffed animal and took the head. I used thumbtacks to keep it in place. I made it mobile by attaching a sweatshirt string under each arm and a key lanyard on the back, and taped those to a folder to keep it stable and able to move. Its name is Jackson because it loves to be in action and move around, hence the Wii Sports music.

I decided to make a purse out of an old cereal box. I had my friend model it and show how it can function here. I cut the cereal box in half to create an area to put things. Then I cut long strips from the box and taped them together, which I then used thumb tacks to attach to the original box. I used crunched up post it notes to cover the sharp ends of the thumb tacks.

For my take on fauvism, I decided to have my roommate, Matthew, as my muse. Matt radiates an earthing energy. As a very laid-back person, Matt can be described as a very mellow friend. Someone who is always down to sit back and enjoy some quality time with his friends. For the colors, I decided to use earth tones. Including many greens, browns, and blues to describe his easy-going personality. However, I also decided to use a pop of bright pink as Matt sometimes gets bursts of energy. While with a chill sense of life, Matt loves to have fun and can incite an exciting environment.

For this drawing, I decided to use this picture of my friend Tucker while we were golfing. I decided to use warm colors such as yellow, orange, and red for his clothing because it reminded me of his very energetic and funny personality. For his skin color, I decided to go with gold because he tells some jokes that you can't describe as anything other than gold. For the sky, I went with colors that reminded me of earth, purple and green, because he is a very down-to-earth guy and very honest. Finally, for the bottom portion, I went with bright and vibrant colors because he is a very fun person to be around and knows how to have a good time in any circumstances.

For my sports moment that I will never forget I chose Kris Jenkins game-winning buzzer-beater in the 2016 national championship for Villanova. I chose this moment because I had March Madness on my mind with it about to start and personally I think March Madness is the greatest event in sports every year. I love watching all the games throughout the end of March because of all the upsets and great games that it brings. This is most definitely the most iconic moment in college basketball history in my opinion. Although I am not big on Villanova this is a moment I will never forget because of how great of a game it was and how electric this singular shot was.

For my artwork, I used this picture of Amanda Holden’s failure to use Photoshop. As you can see, where the ocean and sky meet, as well as where the dock and ocean meet, it is magically warped. Most likely, an attempt to make herself skinny came out as a total failure. I used colored pencils in my sketchbook to portray this image. I put an emphasis on the curved lines and skinny physique in the picture by overexaggerating these in my drawing.

These kinds of images show how society pressures people to meet unrealistic beauty standards, especially through social media. It highlights how people often edit their photos to look "perfect," but these changes are fake and can hurt mental health, making people feel insecure or embarrassed when their edits don’t work. This also connects to consumerism, as companies sell products that promise to help achieve these impossible looks. In the end, it reminds us that real beauty is about being ourselves, not trying to meet an unattainable ideal.

Photo editing will probably keep getting better, but people might start using it less to make themselves look "perfect" and more to show their true selves. Instead of extreme changes, people are using softer edits or filters, like adding light or making photos look vintage. There's also a trend to show more diverse body types and natural features. While photo editing will still be around, it might focus more on being real and unique rather than trying to look perfect all the time.

For my artwork, I took inspiration from the aesthetic of Gabe and Natalie's artwork. They had very similar backgrounds with complementary blue and orange colors and swirly line strokes to fill up the background. It was also similar in the sense that they had their outfits be the center of focus for the artwork. To make my artwork unique compared to theirs I decided to collage together a plethora of different styles and aesthetics from different people's outfits but decided to keep the same theme with the background.

I chose to use blue and orange as the complementary colors in my background. I started just scribbling around and just letting the strokes of my colored pencils flow. I shaded deeper into an area to create a space for the outfit to pop. I have a floral sweater with a black hat and mismatched shoes for my outfit. I also decided to add a belt and handbag to add some accessories to the piece.

Hello! For my first piece I took inspiration from the album “Eat A Peach” by the Allman Brothers. I wanted to convey what the album felt like to me which, in general terms, is warm weather and good times. For the background of the piece I took inspiration from the color palette of the album itself. The images I chose were pictures I had taken myself this past summer which I felt conveyed the feeling this album gives to me. The specific song “Blue Sky” is my favorite off the album. This song, I think, is one of the best songs by the band and is what I think of when I see this album cover. On the bottom part of the piece I included things that have to do with the ocean, and include my times in the Hamptons visiting family. On top of that are some of my favorite summer moments around Boston. The car and the barn are from Vermont. This is the car I dream of driving while listening to this album, Hopefully one day it becomes a reality. I enjoyed this first project very much as I love music and art, it was fun to tie the both together.

The album is called “Abbey Road”. The inspiration that I took from this album is the road running through the middle with four people walking on a crosswalk. I made this artwork my own but adding different animals and having the road running through nature. My favorite song from this Beatles album is Come Together.

I chose the album "We Love You Tecca" by Lil Tecca because it was one of the first albums I really listened to and continue to listen to. Also, the cover is fun and colorful, which allowed me to be creative with my own work. I incorporated many of the same basic aspects of the cover but was able to add my own creative spin to it with the magazine cutouts.
