YOU HAVE NO FUCKING IDEA.
So rabid San Fran 49ers fan @JoeyAX just couldnt let go of wanting NEEDING to make a playoff anthem for his 9ers. Last year they broke red and gold hearts by shitting to the G Men. Now, New York gets bullied outta the post season by RG3's Skins, and the 9ers are waiting for the cheese heads to head west this Saturday.
So, NY based production team The Inkredibles (Hov, Rick Ross, Ace Hood, T Pain and many more) hit Joey with a banger last winter that he sat on, it only seemed right that this was its use. Rumor from Yonkers has it that the beat was originally for a Wayne and Juelz joint. Well one man's loss is another man's 49er anthem. Shouts to Moe from So Inkredible and the big homie Blender.
Joey and @YearOfTheLee tracked it in maybe 6 minutes, with Lee mixing it down in 24 hrs. Bang.
One thing leads to another, some one knows someone on the left coast, in the bay area, who works at The Stick (Candelstick Park, where San Fran plays) and now management is making and taking calls. WahhhhhhLahhhhhhh....ANTHEM.
Why Colin Kap as the title for the freestyle?
Well beside Joey being a huge 9er fan...
Kap and Joey are a bit less than a month apart. (Oct/Nov Autumn 87 kids)
Both have similar family stories
Both are highly spiritual and display their belief in biblical tattoos
Colin was given a shot to come off the bench and KILLED it after be heavily slept on by the status quo. Sports and music (especially the hiphop industry) are very similar. Colin's rise is inspiring. As F word.
Lucky numbers all around? 7. Yup. (Joey's ghost writing and "behind the scenes" name was "Se7en")
Colin's "letter to himself" as a kid predicted he'd play for the Niners in 7 years (http://deadspin.com/5969075/colin-kaepernick-wrote-a-letter-to-himself-in-fourth-grade-predicting-that-hed-become-a-pro-football-player).
Joey wrote a letter to himself about doing music and touring, with even a drawing of his older self's album cover. Joey's mom has it.
So, coming very soon, here's the artwork. Go Niners.
