Trying something new with a few different brushs on Krita. I really enjoyed making this in a different style than my usual cupcake designs.
New style of cupcake design is up on Redbubble. I'm sorry i've been so absent, work is a bit stressful but I'm trying to take today and unwind a bit.
I have Ulcerative Colitis (UC) and auto immune pancreatitis, and i'm scared if i don't find a way to fully destress i'm going to get really sick again. i already don't feel awesome on days off which is frustrating me quiet a bit. I'm also feeling really tired phyiscally and mentally.
I'm hoping by getting creative again i'll be able to destress more.
I've also been playing the library sorting game OMG it's so much fun. and so relaxing
That's it isn't it. As a 13 year old reading John Green's Looking for Alaska I don't think we realize how deep that question is until we reread that book as an adult..... What gives us hope? What is the sum of our parts because we are bigger than just the sum of our parts. We are bigger than our physical form whatever that may mean to you. But As Pudge states.... energy cannot be destroyed it just expists. It's a physics law but forgive me i am not the scholar I used to be. Nor does it matter in the big picture what matters is we are bigger than what is on the outside.
I struggle greatly with anxiety as some of you may know and my biggest groessest trigger is silence from my favourite people. Specifically my boyfriend, and my best friend. Silence in all of my life has meant bad things. But what i am coming to realize as i heal from an extremely mentally and physicall abusive period of my life I realize that the silence isn't about me. It's not my fault they are quiet.
Bless my boyfriend's soul because despite his stress this man still puts up with my stupid questions. like "am i important to you?" A question derived from the fear that his friends meant more than me, that someone else was more important than me. Or something.... Because at one time substances and excape meant more to me than anyone around me so I feared that something has because more important than me. But no this sweet man states "you are i've just been unable to pay my phone bill until now."
Simple.... leaving my dumbass crying for a whole other reason in that i hate myself for ever thinking anything bad. I am so grateful for my relationship with my boyfriend because he shows me every time that it's ok, that often what feels really big and scary is a very simple thing. And right now he's recovering from a pretty serious injury and on reduced hours and is just generally experiencing stress from it all. which is 100% understandable, and even though my brain says "look you crazy person he's just stressed out as you would be too if you were forced to work reduced hours do to an injury, no matter if it was avoidable or not. you too would be a mess." and indeed that is freaking true but tell the panic button voice that. LOL
ANYWAYS basically what I'm saying is everything is both bigger and simpler than we make it out to be and after reading "looking for Alaska" as an adult just now I realize that my anxiety is giving the wrong connotations to something that is infact as simple as a bill was unable to be paid because of lack of money. Or "I can't ask for more help because i haven't paid them back yet'. It's simple.... it's not complicated and it really doesn't need to be because by complicating things with our imaginations good or bad we aren't seeing the real person or situation in front of us. So please go read "looking for Alaska" by John Green. If you don't want to read the whole thing read the last three pages. But you might not get the significance if you do... however those last three pages stay with you and I think are just as powerful on their own.
I probably won't do a review on pinterest for this one of such depth, but i am going to still add it to my "Books I've Read" board as a way of keeping track of books i've read.
OUUU okok, i'm really proud of this sketch!! I've gone back to drawing a rough skull underneath. Explain to me why the more "complex" shape is easier for me than just a face, but hey we do what works am I right?

New painting off to it's new home tomorrow! This is my first portrait of people in 10 years and I'm pretty proud of how it turned out.
My goal lately is to try and stick with drawing and creating. It seems to be a semi decent way to make extra money on the side. It's just very inconsistent and I'm horrible at marketing it, especially because primarily I do my paintings in the physical world rather than the digital world. I do do some digital painting and I'm working on different techniques there too.
If anyone has any networking, marketing ideas for the artist who is a little lost on how to sell their work send me a message. I've read so much and honestly I don't really know what works for the real people. Getting established is hard. Thanks friends.
i just finished my reread of "From Blood and Ash' by Jennifer L. Armentrout. i forgot how much I loved this story.
Honestly i do not blame Poppy for rebelling and wanting to not only choose things for herself but also to feel chosen for who she was not what she represented. It's kind of how I felt at one point my life. I felt as though people, especially those of the opposite sex saw me as just that... someone they could make feel special for just a short time before discarding. Hookup culture at it's finest and I chose to participate until i ended up in a horribly abusive relationship. ANYWAYS, the ending is chef's kiss and always will be, sure there's trepidation but hey, wouldn't we all be a little hesitant if we just found out our whole belief system was built on evil lies to keep the populace of a kingdom in check? lol.
Anyways on to the second book "A Kingdom of Flesh and Fire" stay tuned for that one. (i also wish these books had their order of reading written on their spines like "book one" etc. It would make it so much easier.)
I think in the spirit of showing appreciation to fellow tumblr friends i'm going to try and post an appreciation post at least once a week :) there's some seriously amazing people on here.

Tried something new with my digital painting style and I'm happy with how this turned out.
I'm trying something different with my digital art right now and working on something a bit more painterly. I'm using Sketchbook pro on my tablet to do this painting and playig with different brushes and flow. I guess I never knew this before but depending on the brush flow is how much "paint" is on it.
Stay tuned. i have a feature on sketchbook that i can do a timelaps video!.
If you're spiritual, relgitous or what have you. Pray for someone close to me as they awake surgery to repair a damaged finger. I know hes a bit scared and i'm praying he has a speedy and successful recovery. <3
I just finished reading the Watchers by A.M. Shine. This was a very creepy fun book to read. If you like folklore and a cliffhanger I definitely recommend this read. The twists are honestly both expected and very unexpected at the same time as well.

One of my drawing studies from the other day. I find snakes hard. Even in my days of being a tattoo apprentice I could never wrap my head around them. this guy has no scales because again my brain says no but I say i have to try some time. Just even for my drawing.
OUUUU Ok friends! I have an idea, I follow this lovely Australian painter who does live wedding paintings! They seriously look like photos I had to do a double take on some of her portfolio.
Here in Canada idk if we have anything like that. We certainly don't have anything like that in my area and I think it's something super cool that would be a unique addition to wedding cerimonies. We also have enough wedding venues in my area that i could definitely make it happen.
Now.... I have to get good at painting/drawing people. yay more motivation
