I’ve said it before, I’ll say it again: I have next to zero video editing skills. And even fewer audio editing skills (seriously, don’t pump the volume up too much). But it’s been a month, I’m still trying to find closure, and the two things that irked my the most about the LoK finale was 1.) Korra’s last conversation w/ Tenzin about why she struggled, and 2.) the fact that the series ended with her going on a vacation… Who it was with is fine, but not the entire series ending with Korra being removed from the environment and the people she had just worked so hard to reestablish herself with.

I don’t imagine I’ll need to watch Episode 8 of Book 4 again (the clips one), so I made this very rough draft of an alternate ending using some dialogue from that episode. Since I don’t have my own animation team at hand, it turned into a clips-based conversation anyway. Korra’s parting words don’t exactly even match up with her mouth…. OH WELL.

Mark me when I use the word “alternate”, because that doesn’t mean it’s a BETTER ending. It doesn’t mean the choice of ending on a Korrasami note is bad. Korrasami could easily have become canon before this, if so desired. Honestly, it’s just a look at another direction they could have taken things, one that’s more Korra-centric. My intention isn’t to attack anyone or hurt anyone’s feeling or invalidate a ship. Please understand and know that I’m coming from a place of respect, not hate.

The music used in this is by chongthenomad. She makes some brilliant stuff, so go check her out if you haven’t. The music used over the end credits is just the Korra theme, which is definitely some personal wish-fulfillment on my part.
