ok so let me start off by saying that I think triple a video game dev times tend to be way to short and put way too much stress on the devs. pokemon games from what I've seen are some of the worst when it comes to this and I remember all the talk about the massive bugs that were still in recent games when they were released. then there's everything they're trying to do with the patents(complete corporation bullshit)

Anyway, this brings me to why I really really love 2 pokemon fangames specifically. These games are Pokémon Reborn and Pokémon Rejuvenation. I do enjoy some other fangames, but none have the hold over me that these two do. I have fallen so deeply in love with the characters and plots of these games and I've made countless spreadsheets and lists of specific pokemon for the sake of challenge runs. Anyway I don't wanna make this post too too long so to relate to the previous point, I will more than willingly wait around a year's worth of time for these games to update. Reborn is already complete but regardless. I am so incredibly glad the devs who volunteer their time and effort to work on a free game take their time. not only to make the games all the better but to stop when they need a break and not rush themselves.

god I love these games. if you have any interest in pokemon at all and you follow me, there's no games i would recommend more, personally anyway. are they perfect? no. but I love them so so so much

i can't stop thinking about this one very formative moment i had while talking to one of my trans guy friends at the time. i was like a year or two into transition, and all of my friends were in person. he was talking about a trans girl who really annoyed him for some reason or another, but i distinctly remember that he was really annoyed that she would whine a lot about passing, how to pass, and if this friend thought she'd be able to pass. he whipped out his phone at some point and pulled up a picture of her and said something backhanded like "oh this is what she looks like btw. like i don't think she wants to hear what i really think"

at the time it was really shocking to me, because i was still like yeah the trans community is all supportive or each other, so at first i was just like wow, what a vile thing to say about someone who made the mistake of annoying you. and why would you say all this to me? but the more i thought about it after the fact, the more i realized that he and the friend group like, didn't see misgendering as too low of a blow. that if you're a trans woman who annoyed him enough, he'd label you as an annoying reddit trans fem, gossip behind your back, and purge you from the social circle. he told me all of that as either a threat - like he was telling me how i shouldn't act otherwise face the same treatment - or it was him sort of accepting me into the group. like, he felt fine telling me all this because he thought i was a chill trans girl rather than an annoying one. it was just, textbook transmisogynistic violence in action.

every time i see a trans woman being purged from a social circle it makes me so angry and i think back to this moment. and don't let anyone ever downplay this phenomenon or tell you it's an exclusively online problem

I am begging y'all. BEGGING. To please stop resharing from and interacting with those blogs that post random unsourced nudes of bunches and bunches of women. It irks me when people share uncredited/unsourced porn too, but at least with that you can establish some level of "the people in this photo/video clearly chose to share this widely." But You don't get that with random photos. Do y'all understand how much of a problem revenge porn is? How many men share photos of their girlfriends and wives to sites without their consent??? If you can't establish that the person in the photo chose to share that photo widely, you just really shouldn't touch it. I know this feels like a problem that's bigger than you. "It's already been shared 100× it doesn't matter if I share it too." But you are further normalizing this behavior. You're enabling those assholes to keep compiling blogs of nude photos with unclear consent. PLEASE! There's so many hotties here posting photos that you can share with complete consent. So many people who want to be looked at and shared around. Do that!!!! Find them!!!! Stop giving engagement to the assholes behind the blogs with random uncredited photos they have no right sharing. Please please please.

also to be clear I feel equally as strongly about non women being shared without consent, I do. I just personally have never come across the types of blogs I'm calling out here dedicated to men or nonbinary folx. I block & report probably 5+ blogs like this that share womens photos, so it just feels more prevalent. But it applies across genders. If you can't tell that the photo subject wanted it shared, don't share it!

you ever notice how "male crossdresser" and "femboy" are substantially more common in art than canonical trans women? even though in real life its the opposite and many of these "femboys" are just closeted trans women? notice how to certain audiences the crossdresser is still infinitely more palatable than an actual trans woman? notice how basically the only audience to whom a trans woman is "palatable" are trans woman?

oppression is eased when you are white, as you get extra privileges, and your whiteness is seen as a positive characteristic that in some ways counter-balances your other forms of being a minority. whiteness controls everything.

you are automatically way more innocent in your own oppression as a gay, trans, disabled person because of your whiteness.

Like seriously I am not a boy in fact I was never a boy, I was forced to grow up in ‘boys’ spaces through no say or agency of my own (and yes it WAS incredibly violent and traumatic love how you downplay that all the fucking time) and let me be clear I saw the way you treated those boys and I saw the way those boys treated each other and that’s not how I was treated
