her clothing is based off of clothing of 19th century russian peasants, her coat is a wwi era sheepskin coat, and i changed her hat for stereotypical reasons. i wanted her to match hetalia’s more military outfits while keeping the cool outfits i love on the nyos. will draw her ussr self next

on nation death:

as immortals, i think the hetalia cast can get gored and “ die” but they always regenerate, and don’t necessarily die unless the nation itself dies. i actually think it is common practice for nations to kill eachother, especially during wartime, where the more battle-hungry nations such as Prussia often throw themselves into the front lines without hesitation.

regeneration the first time is hard, but it gets easier as time goes on.

really, a nation’s like for killing other nations and “dying” depends on their individual personalities, (i personally england would enjoy killing, but hate dying whereas austria would hate both, regardless of actual history. most nations do not particularly care one way or another) sometimes it is enforced by their government.

nations do act somewhat autonomously of the government and are more an essence of the spirit of the people, so they may kill eachother for funsies during times of high political tension. most nations tend to not take it too seriously and view a fight to the death as any other fight.

also, i think the speed of their regeneration and how much they can suffer depends on 1) how many times they did it before, 2) their individual personalities, and to a lesser extent their economic strength and stability. half of it is when they want to, but the brutality of their death also plays a factor (america regenerates quite quickly, whereas greece prefers to take his time)

pruaus bdsm headcanon ramble

maybe OOC, at this point i am just turning Roderich and Gilbert into my own OCs.

i feel that pru would really repress himself (in this specific aspect) up until the fall of the berlin wall, where he essentially “dies” and has no more social responsibility to hold this up. i’d think of him as being a bit of a sadomasochist (although not to the extent of rusame but that is a whole other can of worms)

gil would sub but in a way that a horse is submissive, he would find joy in duty and in being broken in. roderich would enjoy taming him in a sense. (pony play,anybody?) perhaps this was always a thing between them, and only really grew in intensity as time passed. Gilbert would also be into extreme bondage, leather and sensory deprivation.

Roderich would dom, he is the type for character to find joy in being very strict and uptight, but the roles are not concrete (roderich would really enjoy suddenly losing control of gilbert and then being at his mercy (i planned on using more explicit language in this sentence but got embarrassed))

however: it is not always in the sexual sense. I would imagine the two to have accumulated quite a lot of gear over time, including cages and those latex suits that you vacuum seal to yourself? i don’t really know how to describe it.

i consider gil to be autistic, (he has several traits which i identify with as an autistic person), and i would imagine him to be into sensory deprivation and bondage sort of as a way to decompress and soothe himself if he gets overstimulated, and that roderich is willing to set up those contraptions for gil. i think of it sort of like a Mr. and Ms. Blowup type relationship and bond, y’know?

really inspired by that one pruaus bdsm fic.. called Anarchy of Silence on Ao3.. i’ve seen nothing like it on the site and i am saddened. possibly one of the best pieces of pruaus literature imo.

i have been really interested in soviet art & culture (especially that of the DDR) and would like to talk about it, but it seems that a lot of people on the internet either

1) seem to be rabidly anticommunist and boil down the USSR to its shortcomings, failures, and atrocities (which i believe AREN'T a fault of Communism and Socialism themselves)

2) completely deny said failures and atrocities of the Soviet Union and use the aesthetic of brutalist architecture and art in post-soviet countries as a sort of edgy pornographic poverty fantasy (and by extension, view post-soviet countries as entirely impoverished and barbaric.)

3) are very communist, but in the process of being so seem to also possess a rose-colored view of the USSR and tend to seem very unforgiving and unsympathetic to those who do not align themselves exactly with their ideals, very soviet-patriotic mindset. (Keyword: A LOT if you do not fall into these three tropes i love you forever) i don't know. communist tumblr is a quite full of jargon that i do not understand fully, making it a little distressing and also making me feel very uneducated. my brain has been irradiated into mindless sludge by the family computer but i would like to learn more about socialist and communist history/theory, so reach out if you would like. also would y'all be interested in me DDRposting :P

ah, i should have clarified. i am mainly interested in soviet art and culture from a historical perspective, so understanding the foundational theory can be very useful in understanding the greater cultural context ))

edit: for example, in order to learn about the futurist art movement, you would also need to learn about fascism. and what was going on in the 1920’s-30s. same goes for any political art movement
