TO CREATORS: YOU CAN AVOID MAKING YOUR CC SO LARGE
Paying more attention to the things I downloaded, I found out some stuff are way too LARGE!
31 kb for just a piece of clothing? This is insane.
And you want to know why these files are that large? Because some creators have duplicated and useless textures on their creations
Maybe they say, oh it’s just a texture who cares. But do they really know how heavy can those textures be? Also if you ever wonder why workshop crashes a lot, this could be a cause. So please, pay a little bit more attention to it:
Delete textures you don’t use: Maybe you imported some texture you made, but didn’t like the result so you won’t use it. DELETE IT! why would you leave the texture there? It’s useless. Click on edit on any texture and go to BROWSE, you will see all your textures there. To delete a texture, right click on it and “Remove”.
Don’t keep importing the same texture: BROWSE button is there for a reason, to look on the textures you already imported. If you import a texture many times, it will duplicate, and duplicate, and duplicate and you will have the same texture like 94832948932 times.
Replace: If you imported your texture but you then edited it on photoshop cause you didn’t like it or if you are importing new textures, import them, but REPLACE the old texture, don’t leave useless textures there.
This is important, so don’t dismiss this, seriously. This is the same piece of CC, but I deleted from it useless and duplicated textures:
Can you tell the difference? Still it’s a little bit large, but at least it’s not 31 kb. So, please dear creators be more cautious about this!
