Bouldering is like programming; You spend hours (and lots of caffeine) trying to solve a problem. When it's a fun problem you keep thinking about it all the time and want to work on it every free minute you have; and then when you've finally solved it you achieve happiness for all of three seconds before you move to the next problem. It's an eternal cycle of days/weeks of frustration followed by a very short burst of intense euphoria.
