\^o^/ MORE Aya drawings!!! Recently, I was discussing with @pekoeboo some major changes to Aya's character, specifically to her age, backstory, and abilities. I'm gonna go in-depth about her lore here, so if you're interested, there's more under the cut! Khalan belongs to @pekoeboo!

Aya is an elven fairy princess from the Farfalla Empire. Her people are known for being war-hungry, ruthless, and proud people, but they weren't always like that. Aya grew up very sheltered. She lived in a secluded part of the castle with very few attendants. Her knowledge of the world is limited to the contents of storybooks, textbooks, and her father's triumphant war tales. Since she wasn't allowed to leave the castle, she spent most of her time on her hobbies, sword fighting, reading, and studying. >w</ No wonder she goes so crazy when she gets outta the house!! Aya may be naive and poorly socially adjusted, but she always maintains a very positive, childlike, and carefree demeanor. Speaking of childlike!! Her attitude is childlike because she is!! A child, haha. She is now 9 years old (in human years). I felt the age change better reflected her character. More info about her species! Aya's world is inhabited by fairy-elf-bug hybrids. These guys live super long lives, grow very tall, and can perform magic. They are characterized by their wings and antennae that differ depending on their birth region. (Aya's race's wings are based on butterflies! ^w^ <33) Anyway, since I changed her backstory from space alien to elven fairy princess, I figured it was only natural she could perform some basic spells. However, Aya is not very good with magic. ><' She can only cast strength and regen on herself to aid in battle. Unfortunately, casting these spells takes a lot out of her, so she has to eat TONS to regain her energy. Poor Khalan;; He already cooked so much! Previous details about Aya still hold true. She can still sense people nearby with her antennae, has a fast metabolism, and hosts a generally oblivious/chaotic nature. However, other things have changed. Her eyes no longer change color depending on mood, and her body is no longer naturally strong; she will have to cast a strength spell for that. The last lil quirk I added was Aya's BED TIME. Aya has a set time she goes to sleep every day, and if it hits that point- she is gonna sleep no matter WHAT is happening or where it is. It is TIME~. She just XD sits down on the pavement and goes to sleep. I always say this, BUT RIP Khalan, who has to carry her and bring her back safely from wherever they are. I promise she loves him;;; >< <33 Lastly is Aya's obsession with FIRE. She just- has a lot of wrong ideas that were taught to her as a child, and BURNING down a house is not OKAY. Please don't let the baby have fire. This is a PSA warning. x'D

It's Khalan's 5th birthday today!!! [10/29/25] 🎉

when I created him back in 2020, I had no idea that I'd STILL be obsessed with him 5 years later - though now he's a vastly different character than where he started. normally I drop interest in characters after maybe a year at most... but Khalan ended up being one that means so much to me and one I've poured a lot of myself into over the years.

I wish I could be even half as brave and kind as he is, honestly. even though his entire life is a living hell, his persistence to keep going and to choose kindness above all is such an inspiration 🥺💕 I love him so, so much;; my precious boy;;;

anyway, I wasn't expecting to have anything drawn in time to celebrate, but I decided to stick with chibi-style art to make things just a little bit easier ;o; yay!!

hurting myself thinking about Act II of HIWYA again. something about Antony losing his brother and then doing everything he can in his power to prevent Khalan from meeting a similar fate just really, really gets me, ok;; despite all odds being against him, he still tries to do good and help those around him - even if there's a chance that things might not turn out okay in the end.

and, like. idk. I just really love that a lot.

I was inspired by @cookieg122's art of Aya in a kimono-style dress from this collection of sketches, so I decided to draw both Khalan and Antony alongside her in similar attire!

we had talked about the idea of the kids going to some kind of summer festival after the events of Act III (which has now been changed to be the act where Khalan gets Really Sick and Antony gets involved), so this is generally what they'd probably wear for the festival; which takes place on the Japanese-inspired island that they're staying on.

also felt like this was a good opportunity to make this into a height chart of sorts for the characters, because I haven't really done that yet. so here it is, haha!

\^w^/ Hello everyone!! It has been a while, but here are some Aya doodles!! @pekoeboo and I have been discussing different parts of HIWYA. We came to the conclusion that Aya's outfit changes depending on the story's arc. After Act 1, she dons her classic look! She still has some other little outfits she wears, like the ones I previously posted, and now I'm adding A CUTE Kimono style!! ^0^// Aya designed it herself. She wants to be as EXTRA as possible, even if it isn't traditional. Everyone look at her! (≧∇≦)ﾉ The other day, my friend @pekoeboo and I were listening to this song, and we thought!! What?? If Aya took all the food money and just bought cake? That?? would be awful?? They would starve?? YES, and then they would have no money and would be forced to eat ONLY cake for an entire week, -that's hilarious XD BUT they probably could go hunting, tho? They don't have to only eat the cake? ..That's true for Khalan and Antony, but Aya?? NO, she MUST eat the cake. To not eat the cake would suggest she was wrong for only buying CAKE. We all know THATS not true. Her pride won't let her admit defeat. I mean.. look at how happy she is eating it!! Antony's def getting a kick outta it. This was a really fun collab project!! For anyone who wants a brief overview of the most common tags, stories, and characters that I tend to post about, I've compiled a list to hopefully make it a bit easier to follow along! Keep in mind that a lot of the content posted about these stories is either outdated, or subject to change at any time.

- Home Is Where You Are -

A collaborative effort with my friend @cookieg122. HIWYA is a story that follows the journey of three OCs (Khalan, Aya, and Antony) as they discover who they are and what it means to be a family. Initially based on some stuff that happened in a few Minecraft servers, but over time has shifted into a fully original story. It's split into three acts, each focusing on a different part of the characters' journey:

Act I Originally based on the Drehmal: Primordial/Apotheosis Minecraft adventure map that my friends and I had played on some time ago, but now has been replaced with Atria; an original world that @cookieg122 and I are building together.

This current version of the story has Khalan and Aya getting whisked away from their home worlds into Atria by an unknown force. Act I focuses mostly on their growing relationship and their goal to try and return Aya back to her home world of Bocca. However, some of the gods of Atria are not pleased about Khalan and Aya's arrival, as their mere existence seems to defy the very nature of the world, so things get chaotic as the gods desperately try to set things right again.

Act II Aya and Khalan try to escape the wrath of the gods by utilizing a broken portal in an attempt to access Bocca, but are instead flung thousands of years into Atria's future; well after calamity had struck the land and the world began anew. The previous god of death makes a return as a power-hungry demon who consumes souls in an attempt to grow more powerful and regain his godhood. Unfortunately, he targets Khalan as his next victim due to Khalan's immortality being exploitable as an infinite source of energy.

This is also when Antony is introduced to the story and becomes a vital character; permanently weaving his way into Khalan and Aya's lives as he attempts to fight against the demon that is tormenting them. Khalan's Journal (abandoned and incredibly outdated fic) happens during this time.

Act III Aya finally manages to figure out a way to create a portal back to her home world of Bocca, though things aren't at all how she remembered it to be upon returning. Reformation is brewing within the Kingdom of Farfalla, and Aya, Khalan, and Antony get heavily involved in the efforts made to change the kingdom for the better; discovering themselves in the process, growing as a family, and taking some time to heal from the heavy trauma they've been shouldering up to that point.

- Ravenwood RP -

Written roleplay universe that my friend @baskervilleshound and I have been working on for some time, though we tend to keep the actual written story part of it to ourselves.

Ravenwood is a mysterious, creepy town nestled in the middle of a forest that doesn't exist on any map. Time appears to be stuck in the early 90s, monsters are known to roam the woods at night, and once you've entered Ravenwood, there's no way to leave. This RP is mostly filled with the sporadic ideas that my friend and I have come up with regarding our characters being placed in such an interesting setting. It's kind of all over the place, but we're just having fun with it.

- Codename: IRIS -

Another story that @cookieg122 and I are working on. Although the characters from HIWYA are used in this story as well, it exists within its own alternate universe.

Codename: IRIS is an story in which a young boy (Khalan) befriends a sentient AI (Aya) within a virtual reality world; using gaming as a form of escape from his abusive home situation and the stress of moving to a new country. Things get out of control as another AI entity known as IRIS v.1 threatens to destroy and corrupt Aya's virtual home, eventually bringing that threat into the real world as well. Both Khalan and Aya, along with the help of their online friend Antony, work together to try and stop v.1's destructive rampage and attempt to also restore Aya's corrupted code and fragmented memories in the process.

Haven't posted much about this one yet, as there's still a lot to it that needs fine-tuning, but here's to hoping that I can share more as time goes on.

ooooh this seems fun; gonna add onto this with one fact about Khalan from the three different stories he's involved in :0

In Home Is Where You Are, Khalan is actually only 17 years old and didn't quite reach his 18th birthday before he was cursed with immortality. He lies about his age and pretends that he's 18 in order to be considered a legal adult within Atria so he can care for Aya.

Within the Ravenwood RP, Melvin's involvement in Khalan's life as a father figure unintentionally pushes Khalan into a really bad mental state; one where he refuses to confront the memory of his own dad so he can finally lay him to rest and accept Melvin as a new father. This mental state spirals to the point where Khalan begins to hallucinate, and he eventually starts to believe that Jal's ghost is coming back to haunt him in order to punish him for what happened in the past. (this does get dealt with eventually, it's just... a really bad situation overall, rip)

On a much brighter note, one of Khalan's favorite songs in Codename: IRIS is Streaming Heart by DECO*27. He has a bit of a crush on the particular Hatsune Miku module that is used for the Project DIVA music video, though he obviously denies it when Aya calls him out on it, haha. the lyrics of the song don't really matter to him, but he loves the sound and the super edgy aesthetic. because he's 13 lol.

BONUS FACT!! this time for Antony instead: The tunic that he was gifted upon becoming a demigod is basically magic and can be replaced or summoned at any point, should anything happen to it. He never has to worry about losing it or the fabric getting destroyed, as he can always just conjure up a new one at will. super convenient! ;u;

OOh!!! I love stuff like this! Ok-oK!! AaaaA, there are so many lil things about Aya that it is tough to pick just one fact~! I'm just gonna gush about a few things from her main story~!

In Home Is Where You Are, something that always makes me laugh is how Aya periodically sneaks out at night to gamble with their money because?? They NEED the cash, and Aya happens to be really good at gambling. *Wink Wink* So she ends up winning SO much money that the townsfolk get angry and kick them out of the village they are staying at. (YES, this HAS happened multiple times before). (YES, she is 9 years old).

In that same story, Aya also has the ability to use maAgiccc~! One of her more recent spells is her "storage!" Aya can store a few items in her pocket dimension for hands-free carrying. However, there are limitations. There is a time limit tied to how heavy the items stored are. For instance, it would be easy for Aya to store a water bottle and a hairbrush all day with no issues. However, add something heavy into the mix, like, I don't know, a small PANDA BEAR (something she definitely didn't pick up once before), and suddenly, she can only keep up the spell for an hour before it starts taking a physical toll on her.

Gosh, okay, another thing- Aya (being a princess) never learned how to properly open and close doors, as that was something taken care of for her by her attendants. So whenever she opens and closes a door, she ends up slamming it. Not out of anger or anything. She just doesn't understand that the door shouldn't be slammed. You always know when she's entered or left the house. R I P Khalan is the one who has to deal with that. Eventually, she does grow out of this one, but it does make me laugh that it even happened. (One daaaay, she's gonna be really embarrassed she did this~)
