tw: topics of suicide discussed (NOT a vent post)

i rlly need ppl to change how they discuss people who have committed..,

where i live, theres usually a kid in school that dies from suicide each year. the other night, somebody my mom used to teach ended his life. just now, she was discussing it w my grandpa.

they werent meaning any disrespect whatsoever, but it was how their names arent remembered. i wont say their names due to privacy, but i hear these kids being called “the kid from last year” and things of that sort. like theyre just numbers.

what i hate more is that i cant remember the name of the kid that passed last year. of course, i didnt know him, our school’s very large. but i wish i could at least know his name.

he deserves to be remembered. all of those kids do. anything otherwise is not fair to them.

obviously im not saying we all have to know the names of every kid on the planet that has committed suicide, thats unrealistic. but can we not talk abt them like it was their death that defined them?
