Job Description
Durga oversees the shipās life support systems such as oxygen levels, air quality, internal temperature, water quality, electrical systems (along with Daniela), safety mechanisms of the ship, etc.
Although she's an engineer, she does technical work for the ship as well.
Personality
Durga is a very bubbly and loving person, tackling everyday activities with a large smile on her face. Her sweet personality is reflected in her hobbies; She loves the culinary arts as a whole but displays a much stronger passion towards baking sweets.
She loves socializing with others and getting to know about their interests and/or occupations, although many find her elated personality off-putting; her only mutual friends being Anya, Daniella, and Daisuke. Swansea and Curly view her more so as a colleague rather than a friend.
Durga is somewhat childlike as well, her playful nicknames for her fellow crewmates and love for jokes reflecting that.
Post-crash, there was a huge shift in her behavior. Her once enthusiastic attitude had changed to a bleak one, not having much hope that she and her fellow crewmates would be rescued from the wreckage of the Tulpar.
She isolated herself within her room, leaving only a few times throughout the entirety of the time following the crash. *
* - In the canon mouthwashing universe, the sleeping quarters were foamed up. In my oc-verse, the rooms were left unscathed by the crash.

Hi little public service announcement, I'll get back to my oc posting after this. ā under the cut
so one of my mutuals made a post talking about Jimmy ākinsā very vaguely and I said lowk if you relate to him it puts me off and I just block ppl who disagree because I'm not one to argue on the internet [ex. proshipper? Blocked.]
and I got new reply
checked opās page and
You drew Jimanya art
and one of said pieces was Anya being assaulted
Jimmy ākinsā and Jimmy āfansā who are actually Jimmy gooners dni please just block me like I block people like this please oh my GOD.
I appreciate Jimmy as a character so much because he is well-written and he's such a complex character and I've met people and even been hurt by people like him. He's such a great representation of how evil normal, everyday people can be [one of several mouthwashing themes/morals, whatever you'd like to call them] but I refuse to interact with people who relate to him for that very reason. and I definitely refuse to interact with people like this user. just wanted to post this so y'all know and can block me if you're like this person.
Call me immature or wtv I don't careee just block me
HI JUST WANTED TO SAY I FINALLY READ THE THINGY YOU WROTE AND IM SEIZING ON THE FLOOR SHAKING CRYIIIINNGG YEEEEEESSSSS
Itās SOOOOOOO GOOD I LOVE the way you wrote them all and how you included Durga and Daniella into the canon dialogue, it flowed really well!! Their characters are so awesome and interesting and I love them SOOO MUUCHH
Durgaās and Daisukeās interactions had me giggling and kicking my feet theyāre so cute itās disgusting. Their friendship is adorable. And also Anya and Daniella!! I love them too!!! Aauughhh!!
HOLLY SHIIIT their deaths are hard to read. That was gruesome, especially with Durga, yeeooowwch, eye trauma always makes me squirm.
I love them dearly and I love your writing and Iām so happy you shared it!! Youāve somehow made me want to attack Jimmy like a rabid chimpanzee even more!! š§”š§”š§”š§”š§”
referring to this ā
I APPRECIATE THIS SO MUCH.. š„¹š„¹ AAAA THANK YOUUU it took months to develop the story to this point and in so glad you enjoyed it. I put lots of dedication into this story.
Daisuke n Durga were my favorite to write. Daniella n Anya too!! my darlings š
It took a bit of time to think about what I wanted to do with their deaths, and to work with the idea Bloom gave for Daniās death, but I'm satisfied with the result and once again I'm glad you liked it!!
This made me smile so hard seeing it. Ty tysm for your kind words.
Hello! So, I've been posting about my oc, Durga, and my friendās oc, Daniella, for a little bit, and I've decided to post their in-game lore. All on a word document!
It's not just me writing a paper on them, it's actual in-game dialogue n such. Hope you all enjoy if you decide to take a look ^^
āYou know you're better than this.ā

I'll be elaborating more on this doc and the ocs included [Durga n Daniella] in the future so stick around for that if you'd like.
Anya and Durga have been friends since around the time that Anya joined the Pony Express. They completed a shipment together before, but not right before the one that took place during Mouthwashing; It occurred early on in Anyaās career and was when they met.
Durga holds Anya in high regard and views her as capable and intelligent. She has learned how to do basic stitches and obtained other medical knowledge from Anya, per her request. She believed Anya had a bright future ahead of her as a doctor and encouraged her to keep pushing for an acceptable letter into medical school.
Anya checks on Durga post-crash whenever she has the time, even though it isn't shown in-game due to pacing and time purposes. There wasn't much that could've been done for her so Durga kept silent about her physical illness, but Anya was easily able to tell what was wrong with her; Anya wishes she could've done more.
Anya was given a mallet from Durgaās tool kit to defend herself if she felt the need to after Durga had found out about her assault. Anya greatly appreciated this; the principal of the act made her feel less alone.
Daniella
Durga and Daniella hold a familial-like bond. She was with Durga during her first shipment, and took it upon herself to show her the ropes. The nature of their roles caused their duties to overlap so they naturally grew close.
They also hung out outside of work when possible. This aided in their bond growing stronger.
While not shown or specified when this happened, we know that they spoke about their pasts and familial issues with each other before the crash.
After the crash, Daniella would check on Durga when she had the time. She'd tell her funny or lighthearted stories about her life back on Earth, her time working for the Pony Express, and even some about her co-workers to lift her spirits. Durga appreciated this greatly, even though it wasn't of much help. Durga sometimes ended up comforting Daniella, even if it wasn't her friendās intention to seek that comfort.
Daisuke
Durga has very obvious romantic feelings for Daisuke. Seven days before the crash, she blushes and smiles after being complimented by Daisuke for her soft hands.
They spent almost all their free time together, Durga giving up her breaktime naps whenever Daisuke wants to hang out. Theyād talk about everything together: their hobbies, their interests, their lives, etc. Daisuke had Durga model for many of his drawings so he could draw with a reference, to which she always happily obliged.
Post-crash, Daisuke brought Durga food and water everyday. She'd reject it sometimes, which saddened him, but this was due to her inability to eat without throwing up most of the time. He didn't know this though. Daisuke did say that she always took the water regardless in a conversation with Jimmy.
He would sometimes stay in her room and talk with her after bringing her food. They'd still try to talk like they used to, but Durga was way less bubbly.
Curly
Curly was Durgaās mentor while she was training to be a freighter worker with the Pony Express; he helped with non-technical, and some technical, related knowledge. She grew close to him during this time and considered him a friend but he views her as a colleague, or more so a student. This caused distance between them. They still held mutual respect for one another though.
Post-crash, Durga only saw Curly a total of four times: after he was pulled out from the cockpit, after he was bandaged, once to talk to him, and when Daisuke had crawled to the medbay from the vents.
Durga couldn't look at him for a while due to the severity of his injuries. She hated seeing someone she admired in such a state. She didn't believe Curly was the one who crashed the ship; partially due to her intuition and partially due to her refusal to think heād be willing to put the crew in harmās way.
Durga was extremely disappointed and saddened when she found out how Curly handled Anyaās assault.
Swansea
Swansea was with Durga on her first ever shipment with the Pony Express. He helped her when she needed it and showed her the ropes along with Daniella. She was already well-trained already, yes, but there was always room for improvement. Especially when you're just starting out.
Durga finds his behavior at times to be distasteful, but respects his skills. Swansea finds Durga rather annoying at times, but he respects her work ethic and dedication. He reminds her of one of his children, personality wise.
He didn't check on her post-crash like the others did, but it can be assumed he had a semblance of concern for her well-being.
Jimmy
Durga didn't like Jimmy from the beginning. She has a very keen intuitive sense and he set off a bunch of alarms in her mind.
They met briefly through Curly. Durga wanted to show Curly her employee ID and the certificate of completion she had received after finishing her training and passing her test to become an official Pony Express employee. Jimmy just so happened to be with Curly at this time. Curly spoke well of him, so she believed he'd be a good person, but the first impression he made on her said otherwise.
Pre-crash, she avoided him. She only talked to him if absolutely necessary. Jimmy viewed this as her thinking lowly of him and discrediting his authority as the co-pilot. He nagged her about sleeping on her breaks, or even showing any sort of ātirednessā on the job if given the chance. This led her to taking her naps in the medbay. He had no issues barging into her room to tell her off.
Along with this, he'd throw a jeering remark on her when he could; whether it be about her weight, her appearance, or a slick comment in general, knowing it bothered her. As belittling as it was to Durga, she tried not to fuss with him as she wanted peace during this shipment. Plus, he made her feel small with his words.
Post-crash, she isolated herself within her room so it wasn't hard to avoid him. When she did encounter him, it wasn't a positive experience.
Daniella has romantic feelings for Anya. Daniella playfully flirted with her at times, trying to test the waters. Anya would often flirt back or respond with a laugh but it still wasn't clear to either of their feelings were truly reciprocated.
Almost all shipments that Anya went on, Daniella was there as well. This gave them ample time to get to know each other intimately, along with the fact they hung out frequently back home.
They spent almost all their free time on the Tulpar together and stuck by each otherās sides post-crash. Along with this, Anya had gone to stay in Daniellaās room three months before the crash, due to Jimmy. This shows her trust in Daniella, even if she never told her the whole story.
Daniella struggled with migraines post-crash. Anya would try her best to alleviate them with the limited resources she had to work with; ensuring she got enough sleep, trying to lower her stress, making sure she was hydrated, and staying in the dark of their now shared room as light can worsen migraines.
Durga
Daniella views Durga as a younger sister because of how close they are and the fact that Daniella often feels familial-love to her younger peers.
Daniella was with Durga during her first shipment, and she took it upon herself to show her the ropes. The nature of their roles caused their duties to overlap so they naturally grew close.
They also hung out outside of work when possible. This aided in their bond growing stronger.
While not shown or specified when this happened, we know that they spoke about their pasts and familial issues with each other before the crash. It's more than likely that Daniella told her story to Durga to show she can relate to not having the most supportive family.
After the crash, Daniella would check on Durga when she had the time. Daniella would tell her funny or lighthearted stories about her life back on Earth, her time working for the Pony Express, and even some about her co-workers to lift her spirits. She wishes she could've done more to help her.
Daisuke
Daniella cares for Daisuke a lot. She enjoys his company and playfully teases him about lots of things.
They don't interact much after the crash, but they appear to be a good team. They worked together in the cockpit to make repairs secretly in an attempt to get them back home.
Curly
Not much is known about their relationship but it's clear Daniella respects Curly as a captain and authority figure, much more than Jimmy.
She heard about Curly and Jimmy from Durga before the events of āMouthwashingā so that had some influence in her opinion of him.
Swansea
Daniella knew Swansea about 10 years prior to the events of āMouthwashingā. He was her mentor, similar to how Curly was Durgaās. Swansea was already well versed in mechanics so Daniella naturally became skilled too. However, she was scared of him at first as due to his resemblance to her dad. He took a more hands-off approach with her teaching when he realized her discomfort, for both of their sakes. This allowed time for her fear of him to dissolve.
Their relationship was one where they could interact casually. Swansea isn't the nicest person so that can bother Daniella, but he isn't the worst in her opinion; they like joking with eachother.
After Swansea began to drink mouthwash, Daniella started to fear him in his drunken state. Swansea would never go out his way to intentionally hurt her, but her past made her paranoid. It seems she āguardedā the sleeping quarters in case he'd act out.
Jimmy
Daniella does not like Jimmy. She finds him hard to look at, or in other words, she thinks he's āfuglyā.
Daniella heard about Curly and Jimmy through Durga before the events of āMouthwashingā so that had influence in her opinion of him. She still treats him with respect as he is āaboveā her in terms of authority and in order to remain in good standing with him.
Post-crash, Daniella grew fearful of Jimmy. He stressed her about maintaining the electrical systems in the ship, leading to her work quality depleting. She still tries her hardest as to not end up on the receiving end of his wrath.
She lost respect for him and doesn't view him as a proper captain. She mocks him under her breath when she's especially tired of his behavior.
!!TW!! Mentions of Physical Abuse, Verbal Abuse, and Alcohol Abuse
ā under the cut
Daniellaās parentsā relationship was taking a turn for the worse before she had even been born, but they saw no point in divorcing at that point; they felt like they wasted so much of their lives together, trying to make things work, but it never did. They didn't love each other much but saw divorce as a futile thing; who'd want them now?
They had Daniella when they were in their late 30ās unexpectedly. They desired to have kids at one point, desired to build a happy family, but by the time Daniella came around, that desire was reduced to almost nothing.
Desiderio, one of her sisters, would be born when she was around 6. DueƱa, the other, when she was 7. When Daniella was 11, her brother, Daniel, was born. They were all the result of their parents trying to fill the void of their loveless marriage with sex, which didn't work in the slightest, leaving these kids with parents that didn't care for them.
Daniella ended up taking on a parental role for her siblings while they were growing up: keeping up with their hygiene, getting them ready for school, helping them with school work, cooking for them, cleaning up after, and then teaching them how to clean up after themselves, and teaching them about life general. The only role their parents filled was covering finances, but even then it was Daniella sneaking their cards away from them to make purchases.
Along with all these burdens Daniella had, her dad was a heavy drinker. Whenever she'd see him, he'd almost always have a drink next to him. When sober, he was a lot to handle, and drinking made him worse. He was prone to anger, lashing out on his kids for the smallest things. His violence was often physical, which Daniella faced the brunt of. She always shielded her siblings, no matter what, and their mother was scarcely around to stop it.
When her mother was around, she'd usually have a cigarette lit, resting between her fingers. Daniella grew to hate the smell of tobacco, associating it with her mother and how she was never there for her. Not only that though, the smoke circulating through the vents and all throughout the house felt suffocating.
Daniel one day told her that Daniella looked and sounded like their mom. He didn't mean to hurt her, but it did. She sloppily chopped her hair to try and alter her appearance, to get rid of that resemblance. Later on, she'd start dyeing her hair.
The violence from Daniellaās father wasn't merely physical, it'd be verbal too. He'd berate his kids, primarily Daniella, saying they'd never amount to anything in their lives. A sad projection of his own insecurities onto them.
Daniella refused to let this be true. She worked hard in school, pushing her siblings to do so as well, and she ended up top of her class. She earned her highschool diploma, and landed a position at the Pony Express as an Electrical Technician at 19. It was a relatively high-paying job, at least enough to reach her goals; she wanted her siblings to get a higher education and live a good life. She was sad that she'd be far from her siblings, but it was all for them.
Daniella managed to get Desiderio and DueƱa out of their parentsā house at the same time as her. She was 20, and her sisters were around 19 and 18. Their parents refused to let Daniel go as he was 9; They forced him to stay until he was 18.
She set up savings accounts for all her siblings, and had to allow her parents to manage Danielās. It bothered her that she had to do this, as it kept her in contact with her parents, but she still did it. What she'd never find out though, was that her parents, mainly her dad, would spend that money on themselves and force Daniel into silence.
This year, Daniel would graduate highschool; Heād finally get to see his sisters without restriction, and most importantly, he'd be out of his parentsā house.
Daniella was scheduled to finish her current shipment a week before he'd graduate. He was so excited that she'd see him reach such a big milestone, and she was equally as excited.
Post-crash, Daniella becomes anxiety-ridden. The stress of trying to maintain the shipās electrical systems, the ones that weren't busted, takes a toll on her. It's more than likely that Jimmy forced that role upon her. It's noted by Swansea that she's a ā-nervous wreck. Worse than when [he] first met her.ā and that the āQuality of her workās been dwindlinā.ā She's prone to shutting down and dissociating when under extreme stress or in a state of panic.
She also experienced paranoia, pacing the halls all throughout āthe nightā on the Tulpar to āprotectā everyone. This started after Swansea began drinking the mouthwash; a trauma response of some sort.

Durga grew up in a loving family for the most part, surrounded by her countless relatives; both parents, an older sister, grandparents, aunties, uncles, cousins, a nephew, and in-laws. Her love for the culinary arts came from her mother: always glued to her side as she cooked in the kitchen. Her mother taught Durga almost everything she knew about the subject, fostering the love she had for cooking and baking further.
Although her parents recognized her talents, they believed that it'd be best for her to go into the medical field, like her sister, or another occupation they deemed suitable. She sternly opposed this idea but it only caused tension and turmoil among her and her family.
Durgaās parents picked a highschool that offered career academies for her to attend; it'd put her on a set path in life depending on which academy she was in. They filled out the application with her, showing her that they were signing her up for the āMedical Academyā. They left her alone with this sheet of paper so she could sit with the decision that was made, and to put the application in the envelope provided when ready. Unfortunately, she didn't take this well. She hastily erased her parentsā selection, and bubbled in what she thought to be the section for āCulinary Arts Academyā. However, a terrible oversight on her part was not retrieving her glasses to do so.
She accidentally signed herself up for the āEngineering and Technical Arts Academyā. To say her parents were disappointed would be a grave understatement. They were livid upon finding this out, and all throughout her highschool years they shamed her for it. She wasn't even allowed to cook or bake under their roof anymore.
Durga surprisingly took great interest in engineering though. She grew to be an expert in what she studied, graduating top of her class with several awards, even earning an AA degree from Dual Enrollment. She tried to make her parents proud while doing something she enjoyed, but it didn't quite work. They gave their congratulations, but that was about it.
She pursued a career working for Pony Express fresh out of highschool, so she most likely became an official employee for the company around 18 years old.
This is literally such an amazing concept??? Like it's actually SO CREATIVE WHAT????!!! even some explanation given by the creator in the comments are just so golden.

Hello Everyone! I've noticed a ton of people drawing Daisuke without his gashes.. and some people even saying that the mouthwash he drank is what caused his death??? Hello?? uhh so I took some screenshots of his model after he got hurt.
CW FOR BLOOD & GORE
As we can see, Daisuke has one large gash going across his chest, one incision on his arm, one below the chest gash, and one large one in his leg. You can also see that his shirt and pants were ripped in some areas.
Along with this, his face model looks more disheveled before the axe. Nose is bleeding as well. Possibly due to electrocution?
I'm not sure what the gash on his neck is, but I'll assume it's another cut, if not a burn mark.
My poor boy ā¹ļø actually teared up writing this. I love Daisuke an unhealthy amount.
The fact that mouthwash was poured on those wounds!? They're so deep. That definitely hurt so much. š
Thank you for reading this though! I hope this can be of help to mouthwashing artists.
Would the mouthwashing community be interested in me sharing my oc & friend ocās lore here.. it's a lot and very detailed.
I also watched a Mouthwashing playthrough twice, typed out all of the charactersā dialogue, analyzed the characters as best as I could, and wrote my oc & my friendās oc into the game. Would y'all be interested in me sharing that as well.
