HENRY CAVILL 😊💙🥰
imagine being netflix and paying fuck knows how much money to get the rights to the witcher, a property that admittedly should be a gold mine given it’s place not only as a national epic but as an internationally beloved series, investing so much money and marketing to build it up as this huge cinematic universe with spin off shows and movies …only to fuck up so badly that you’re lead actor grows fed up and leaves
can’t believe they went for liam hemsworth when there was him to consider??
Lol RIP to The Witcher Netflix. Despite my opinion that he was miscast as Geralt, Henry's passion for the character and his knowledge of the books and games was the only thing that kept me remotely interested in the goings-on of the show. And let's be honest his appeal and star power is what kept people watching in spite of how shitty this team of writers has portrayed Sapkowski's novels. No shade to Liam Hemsworth but the show should just be canceled.
trying to work out what liam hemsworth would look like as geralt like
not me logging on to tumblr for the first time in months just to see that Henry Cavill is going to be replaced as Geralt by fucking Liam Hemsworth
there’s nothing wrong at all with being more invested in side characters but if you complain bc a piece of media focusses on the main cast rather than the supporting cast especially male side characters in a female-centric narrative then that is very much a You Problem™
people whining that a minor male character “got done so dirty” bc he didn’t match their 90% fanon/10% canon characterisation of him while completely ignoring main female characters who have actual established personalities is gonna be my villain origin story istg
“i wish there was a character with [insert trait here] :/” they’ll say when there’s already a female character in the story with that exact trait
“[insert background male character] doesn’t get enough attention :(” they’ll say when the female leads receive the most screentime
anyway “it’s a flaw that this narrative is primarily centred on its protagonists” is always a ridiculous criticism in general but it’s particularly infuriating in cases where it’s so blatantly rooted in misogyny
i’m sorry but it is not the writers’ fault if you go into a story where most of the cast are women and exclusively pay attention to the supporting male characters while refusing to engage with the female protagonists then cry about “bad writing” and “wasted potential”
I’m going to put this very bluntly: if you see an active genocide going on and your response is “But WHATABOUT_____?” you’re in fact not expressing support for the WHATABOUT. Not only are you helping fuck all to the WHATABOUT by doing this, but you’re implicitly suggesting that any and all support for the country going through a genocide as we speak should be removed until the WHATABOUT is addressed. If you had a shred of honesty you’d be saying what you truly want to say:
“I don’t give a fuck about a fascist dictatorship implementing blood and soil politics.”
“I don’t give a fuck about millions of Ukrainians being driven from their homes.”
“I don’t give a fuck about tens of thousands of Ukrainians being kidnapped and held in concentration camps.”
“I don’t give a fuck about Ukrainian children being separated and marked for re-education in Russian families.”
“I don’t give a fuck about Ukrainian cities being levelled.”
“I don’t give a fuck about the systemic mass rapes of Ukrainian women.”
“I don’t give a fuck about the systemic slaughter of Ukrainian civilians.”
“I don’t give a fuck about the rape of Ukrainian children.”
“I don’t give a fuck what happens to Ukraine and all the people there if Russia wins.”
And to be perfectly honest, you don’t give a fuck about the WHATABOUT either.

I’ve seen a lot of posts going around that sort of…mock the idea that you, an individual person, can make any sort of difference by donating to Ukraine. And I find that sentiment really unhelpful. Look, I understand that those of us who don’t have a ton of money (myself included) probably feel like giving money to Ukraine won’t make as much of a difference as we’d like it to make (I wish I had thousands or millions of dollars to donate, but I don’t.) But every bit DOES help. And I feel like some people are being needlessly cynical right now. Obviously, you should do research on charities before giving to them. But that’s not what this post is about. It’s about the fact that some people are really saying, “Donating to Ukraine won’t solve anything/it won’t change anything.” But whether it will “solve” anything on a large scale is beside the point… People are being displaced, their homes are being bombed, their lives are completely in chaos. They need food, they need basic supplies, they need everything they can get. I saw a photo of a pile of boots that people in one neighborhood in the UK were donating to Ukraine. Sure, it was only about 30 pairs of boots, but every pair of those boots will go on somebody’s feet. That matters! Will donating money/supplies stop the war? No, of course not. But it WILL make a measurable difference in the lives of people who are suffering right now. And I know that not everybody is even in a position to donate right now. But please, please, stop saying that donations don’t achieve anything. (Here are some charities recommended by NPR)

TO UKRAINIAN FRIENDS
If you are looking for an emergency exit from Ukraine, Poland will open EIGHT safety points on the border with Ukraine (you will get warm food, medical help and from there you will be guided to safety) in two of our voivodeships: lubuskie and podkarpackie. It is confirmed by the Polish Secretary of State in the Chancellery of the Prime Minister, Paweł Szefernaker.

I’ve marked those voivodeships on the map!
Please share because it can save lives!!!!!!
EDIT: THERE WILL BE NINE SAFETY POINTS IN THE FOLLOWING PLACES: Dorohusk, Dołhobyczów, Zosin, Hrebenne, Korczowa, Medyka, Budomierz, Krościenko and in Przemyśl organized on the train station.

EDIT2: ADDITIONAL HELP FROM MY UNIVERSITY LOCATED IN THE SOUTH OF POLAND (more precisely in Katowice or Sosnowiec):
“Dear!
Members of the community of the University of Silesia!
Today we are all Ukrainians.
Twice in our history we have been deprived of our own state by the aggression of empires, and thus cut off from the sovereign exercise of the rights and values of a free, democratic world. Without this foundation, the real university cannot exist as well.
Our Ukrainian friends, we understand your suffering, we join in indignation and protest against the aggression of the Russian regime, we declare all possible help.
Our community consists of students, PhD students and employees from many former Soviet republics. We assure you that everyone who respects the rights of our community will find peaceful shelter, and good conditions for studying, research and work here. Please, be attentive to anyone who needs help in this difficult time.
For specific activities, Plenipotentiary of the Rector for Aid for Ukraine was appointed (Sylwia Ledwoch, phone number: 573 490 580), to whom you can report both the need for aid, and support initiatives, including the willingness to individually get involved in helping (food collection, support in finding a job or a flat, medical assistance, etc.). Additionally, we are preparing system support for studying and working people from Ukraine regarding education, legal advice, health and psychological advice, as well as support in finding a job or a place to live. You might also be interested in help from our translators and interpreters.
The Student Government of the University of Silesia, the Doctoral Student Government, and the Student Legal Clinic at the Faculty of Law and Administration is at your disposal and declares any help in matters related to studying and residing in Poland.
We are available via e-mail: [email protected], [email protected], [email protected]
In the following days, we will launch a website with all necessary information on our actions and support.
We hope that Ukraine will defend the most precious value of any country – independence – and the civilised world will save the global peace.
Let’s be together in mutual help.

The letter written by the university authorities was posted in four languages!
I can NOT double check the sources as I don’t speak the language that the articles are written in and I don’t fully trust google translator.. soo if someone can verify this and tell (that would be super helpful!)
It is legit. Apart from the OP’s mistake/autocorrect in the name of the voivodeship (lubelskie, not lubuskie), the info about nine emergency exits is correct and verified. However, the situation may change, and all the recent informations about the exits can be found anytime at the government’s website: ua.gov.pl—it’s in four languages and as legit as possible, I’d say.
(sorry, I couldn’t find the map with the exits’ places, but the gov’s site has QRs and links to Google maps for every emergency exit)
Also, I found some regularly-updated info about the estimated time of waiting at the border: https://granica.gov.pl/index_wait.php?p=u&v=en&k=w
“Who can prevent all this from happening? The people. Public figures, journalists, musicians, actors, athletes, scientists, doctors, bloggers, stand-ups, Tiktokers, and more. Ordinary people. Ordinary, simple people. Men, women, old, young, fathers, and most importantly - mothers. I know that my speech will not be aired on Russian television. But the citizens of Russia have to see it. They need to know the truth.”
