This post goes harder than any post has ever gone before.
this ones for the girls
the water warriors fighting for access to clean water for all
the teenagers imprisoned for fighting back against oppressive regimes
those fighting for access to education for all
for the future of the planet
for gender equality
for safety and protection from gun violence
for governmental representation and engagement for youths
for the rights of immigrants
for syria and the rights of refugees
for literacy and the representation of WOC in books
for trans and queer rights
for protection of girls against forced marriage and child slavery
i hope that one day we live in a world where children are allowed to just be children, where they dont have to fight tooth and nail for their rights and their futures, but i could not be prouder of this generation

After waiting 9 months, my babydaughter Victoria is finally born. I'm so in love with my little girl❤️
I used to consider myself a Colin Stan. Unfortunately, to be an admirer of Colin now seems to require hating Bradley (see: @allonsymp4 and that she chose to retweet @crispytins: Me, quietly to myself: Thank god for Colin Morgan. Sorry, I'm done with the Merlin fandom now and their toxic hate.
This is what I would call “throwing the baby out with the bathwater”. Leaving an entire fandom based on what a very small portion of them are saying and doing (you mentioned two out of an entire fandom of people...) seems like a disproportionate response to me.
As a majority, I’ve found Merlin fans to be quite welcoming and pleasant. I’ve been in the Merlin fandom since early 2012. A lot of people I know were Merlin fans from 2008 on. I have met several Meriln fans in person and just about all of them were lovely.
I have also never--even once--saw any sort of Super Secret Guidebook on the proper way to be a Merlin fan.
Some people aren’t the biggest fans of Bradley James. Others aren’t particularly fond of Colin. Still others may not like Angel or Katie that much. Or some people love all of them.
Some people swear Merthur is canon, others say it’s Arthur/Gwen all the way. Some people love Gwen and Morgana as a couple, others love Gwen with Lancelot together.
You can love fan art and fan fiction or you can hate it. You can love cosplay or you can hate it.
The list goes on and on. People have a right to their opinions, but that doesn’t mean you have to agree with them. As long as people aren’t being abusive to each other, to each their own. Find your “tribe” and enjoy yourself!
Fandom is supposed to be fun. So if the Merlin fandom is no longer fun for you to be a part of, then perhaps stepping back from it would be for the best.
Left the merlin fandom a long, long time ago 😁
sorry everyone

and let’s not forget this
Ella Fitzgerald was not allowed to play at the popular Mocambo, in Hollywood, because of her race. Marilyn, who loved her music and supported civil rights, called the owner of the Mocambo and told him that if he booked Ella immediately, she would take a front table every night. The owner said yes, and Marilyn was there, front table, every night. After that, Ella never had to play in a small jazz club again.
“She was an unusual woman – a little ahead of her times. And she didn’t know it.“ - Ella Fitzgerald about Marilyn Monroe
OH SHIT YOU JUST GOT SERVED
I got goosebumps reading this. Amazing.
Thank you! I hate when people shit talk Marilyn Monroe not knowing shit about her career except the few slut shaming representations of her.
I’ve read some of her poetry and she was quite intelligent. If people talk shit about Marilyn, I will eat their insides!
Fuck you I’ll reblog it cuz it’s an elephant strawberry I need no other reason

It appears absolutely no one realizes this character (assuming this story takes places during the time in which it was filmed) grew up during The Troubles of Northern Ireland.
You don’t if he’s Northern Irish. You don’t know if he’s Catholic. You don’t know if he grew up watching his people get murdered by Loyalist Protestants and British soldiers who carried heavy racial prejudice against Irish Catholics (hellooo, Bloody Sunday anyone?), who had for centuries been characterized as barbaric, racially inferior, lowly people who needed to be wiped out or converted. Attacks by the IRA, and therefore retaliation by the British, didn’t completely cease until 1998, I believe? This film came out in 2002.
You don’t know if he was an Irishman who grew up in England. Bomb attacks carried out by the IRA in England kindled misplaced aggression toward innocent Irish civilians living among the English population and Irish people were verbally and physically attacked and their businesses targeted. Perhaps similar to how ordinary Muslims bear the brunt of aggression after attacks by Muslim extremists…
You can still find yourself threatened and demeaned if you’re a Catholic in Northern Ireland or if you’re a Protestant in Ireland and some older dude in a pub in a smaller town straight up asks you if you’re Catholic or not and you’re afraid what’ll happen if you don’t lie about who you are.
You can still hear casual racism toward Irish people in everyday life and in publicly broadcast media in the UK.
You can still see and hear “Kill All Irish” and other pretty heavy anti-Irish sentiment among Loyalists in Northern Ireland who don’t consider themselves Irish at all.
Just because it now appears that the island of Ireland has been allowed to move on from war and their appearance and culture generally allows them to blend into and reap the benefits of the White European demographic doesn’t mean that this character does not have the background suitable to fully empathize with her. Maybe he does, maybe he doesn’t, we just don’t know his story.
But I guess you’ve never been demeaned as a Paddy or a Taig so you wouldn’t understand what it feels like, would you?
don’t worry dude it’s tumblr the mentality here is basically “if you’re lighter than a coconut you’re not allowed to have any feelings and your life is automatically perfect but that’s not racist at all bc your skin is lighter than someone else’s and that means it’s ok”
^^^^^^^^
not enough upward pointies in the world
plot twist: being Irish actually sucks, seriously
I normally don’t comment on posts like these but the ignorance of this makes me so fucking angry because absolutely no one in the world seems to give a shit about the Irish because we all just seem to be so happy and drunk all the time. Because they’re white, right? So obviously they have no idea what hardship means.
*bursts in* *breathes heavily* Did someone mention the Northern Irish Troubles
First of all, pretty much yes to everything about Ireland up there. Growing up in Northern Ireland, I saw the violence from all sides - my father is a British Protestant and my mother is a Catholic, so I basically couldn’t win because according to one side I was a dirty taig and according to the other I was a filthy hun. Luckily I managed to make friends with a mix of both Catholics and Protestants who all thought this attitude was just as stupid as I did, but between all of us, we saw our fair share of sectarian violence, and the Catholics, without a doubt, got it worse.
Irish Catholics were robbed of their country by Protestant invaders centuries ago. They fought and fought and eventually got the Irish Free State (now the Republic of Ireland), however, thanks to the deliberate plantation of Protestants to eradicate the Catholic majority in the North, it was left under British rule. Since then, Catholics have been murdered, arrested, terrorised, tortured and driven out of their houses just for being Irish Catholics.
I moved from Northern Ireland in 2010 and to the day I left, the violence was not over. I couldn’t wear certain colours in certain areas because I would be beaten. I had fake names depending on where I was stopped, as attackers can determine what religion you are from your name alone (and this is a trick I learned, too, for defence). I can recite my rights if I’m arrested because if I was stopped in certain areas I could be, on the assumption I could be Catholic. I know the subtle sectarian geography of the city of Belfast because if I cross the road in the wrong place I’m in enemy territory. I have been chased by a group of forty people, throwing fireworks at me, because they assumed I was a Catholic. Police were parked on nearby streets and didn’t acknowledge the commotion. My friends and I walk past graffiti screamed “Kill All Taigs”. A fifteen year old boy who lived half an hour from me was beaten to death by a group of adults for being Catholic. For fifty years, people have been detained without trial, tortured, beaten and wrongly imprisoned just for being Catholic, because apparently, being Catholic means you must be in the IRA.
Even now, I can’t escape it. I have a noticeable Northern Irish accent, which is stronger when I’m around people from there and is noticeable as a strong accent whenever I’m not in the country. At airports, I’m always the one stopped and frisked if they hear my accent. At ferry ports, it’s alway my car (which has Northern Irish registration plates) that’s “randomly selected” for a search. All of this just happened to me, a person who got off lightly.
If you think that Irish people haven’t faced oppression and abuse, you’re wrong. If you think that Northern Ireland is past its troubles, you’re wrong. It sickens me that this happens only a few hundred miles away from England and no one acknowledges it exists, because hey, they’re just some terrorist Catholics, right?
Contrary to popular belief, racism isn’t America centric. Just ask the Serbians and Croatians.
REBLOGGING FOR THE LAST ONE JFC THANK YOU.
Hell, ask Rwanda. Plot twist: ethnic genocide involving no white people at all!
Ask China about Japan. Ask Tibet about China. Ask Kuwait about Iraq. Ask Ukraine about Russia.
Xenophobia is not just the purview of white people. Any other can be an enemy. They can be the same colour. They can share a religion. They can live right next door right up until the moment the blade or gun or bomb is in your hand.
Racism and Xenophobia is a very Human or Primate response to our fellow man, Chimps display it, so do Gorillas and any other primate living today.
To say someone can’t experience this because [x] is a way of dehumanizing them, making them the other you claim them of making you.
It’s the most Tribal and simplistic way of viewing things, it’s a view that lacks empathy to say that someone can’t experience something because of the colour of their skin, it’s also Extremely Racist.
But hey i don’t know why I go on when most people will view my lighter than coal skin and say that invalidates my opinion.
This has many new additions since I last (maybe) reblogged it three years go.
It continues to be a good lesson for all of tumblr to learn
Not every movie you see clips from on Tumblr is set in America, or set in the present day.
Context matters.

To the Anon who asked about any new Colin projects…
Apparently when my mobile glitched during an attempted response yesterday, the Internet ate your question. In any event, let me attempt to paraphrase your question here (and then answer it).
The question as I recall asked if I knew of any new Colin projects, and then went on to comment that he appeared to be tired and thin and that it appeared that he was taking on less projects.
As I read it, the question seemed to insinuate that Colin was taking less projects because he was in some way unwell.
Here is my response:
First, I honestly don’t know where the OP has gotten the idea that Colin looked tired and thin. I was in London for the entire last two weeks of the All My Sons run and saw Colin several times. He did not look abnormally thin or tired. In fact, I was pleased to see that he appeared quite healthy at the end of the run considering the fact that I’d seen him in the middle of the Translations run last year and Colin had looked pretty thin then (although even then, his energy level appeared quite normal). Much thinner last year, in fact, than he was this time around.
Photos of Colin can be quite deceiving. Sometimes they make him look bulkier than he is, and other times, they exaggerate his naturally thin build.
In the many times I saw him in those two weeks, Colin never appeared to be any more tired than I would expect an actor performing eight shows a week to look. Again, he seemed to be quite well, especially when you consider that he worked 6 day weeks & performed 8 shows a week for 8 weeks–and the performances he had to give would have been incredibly emotionally draining.
As of the writing of this post, I am not aware of any new Colin projects. However, that doesn’t mean that there aren’t any.
And as for the insinuation that Colin is taking on less projects: I think there are several factors in play.
First, we simply don’t know how many projects Colin might have been attached to that never panned out (and therefore it looks like he wasn’t working). For example, there was a project he’d been announced as attached to (the feature film The Scavengers for those of you playing the home game) that was never made. We just don’t know how many more projects that Colin might have set time aside for that didn’t pan out. This might be especially so, considering his mention of how the best scripts he’s ever read just aren’t getting made.
Second, as much as I hate the Colin Drought phases, I’m actually glad to see that Colin is working a mere mortal kind of schedule these days, versus the frankly superhuman one he had going for a couple of years (I’m looking at you 2013-2015). Nine or ten projects a year is an insane amount of work and perhaps he got wise that pacing oneself is not necessarily a bad thing.
Still, it’s not exactly like he’s been resting on his laurels in the past couple of years, either.
In 2016, he went right from filming The Fall, to Humans Series 2, to a press junket for The Living and the Dead, to The Happy Prince.
In 2017, Colin did The Coming of the Martians & Keeping in Touch audio projects before doing the play Gloria, and then went right into filming Benjamin. In fact, Benjamin started filming before the run of Gloria was even over! And then he started filming Humans Series 3.
In 2018, he did a press junket for The Happy Prince at Sundance Festival while still filming Humans for the 1st 2 months of the year. Then he went right into taping The Merchant of Venice audio play and then straight into rehearsals for Translations, which ran from May until August. Then he recorded voiceover for The Chronicles of Mourne, the documentary series about Northern Ireland. Then he recorded the as yet unaired podcast called Passenger List. Then he did promotion for the release of the films Benjamin and Waiting for You. Then he recorded the audio play Norse Mythology and the audio book The Worldship Humility!
So far in 2019, Colin recorded the audio play A Border Fantasy and rehearsed and performed a leading role in the play All My Sons.
I would call that a pretty full dance card, even if it means that he’s done a bit less television and film than in previous years.
It can be frustrating for fans, especially for a fan outside of the UK, when Colin does work that isn’t easily accessible outside of the UK. Therefore, it might feel like he’s working less than he really is.
Lastly, Colin has made comments in more than one recent interview that he has an active interest in writing and/or directing projects. It’s quite possible that he is focusing some of his time and energy on developing some of those ideas.
WAKE. UP.
Never Again is right now! Wake up and fight back!

To call someone a murderer for abortion is rather extreme
Abortion for own convenience...
I don't get this and i never will. If you are beeing raped i agree with abortion. But not because you don't want a baby. Not in this time were the choices of anticonception are limitless. Abortion because you don't want a baby makes you a murderer. Simply because you know the consequences of sex, you are perfectly aware where babies come from and you refused to take actions against it. No, it's simpler to just suck a life out of you like you trow away garbage. To continue your happy life, like nothing happend and perhaps make the mistake over and over again because hey, it's just such a simple solution....
