not a question but maybe my favourite thing abt the fic is how localised & specific it is. i don’t know how to say this without sounding like creepy but you can immediately tell it comes from study abroad firsthand experience. and is full of exacting affectionate nostalgia for it

yes!!! everyone will find the happiness that is realistically possible by the end of the fic. in fact out of this cast of characters trevor will be the most happy. especially when she wakes up one day and jamie is a girl. just kidding trevor is so fascinating to me irl and in this fic she’ll tell u the most bat shit thing ever and be like 😊hehe😊 like ok mama i don’t have time to unpack this rn but we’ll get back to u… jack is just a lot more urgently unwell but

also quinn is not evil… at least not on purpose… jack would say yes but then also punch u in the face for even saying that… and then throw up in the street for agreeing (in public)… so honestly both! the first scene in chapter 8 rlly showcases (imo) why/how they got so deeply toxic post-crash. i could write an essay on their relationship but that essay would just be chapter 9.

I will respect whatever decision you choose but I love toxic hetero Trevor…her fingernails her high femme presentation it could work totally well if she was gay but idk!! It works well as you have it too and I live for the little mentions of their relationship throughout the fic

when / how did you start writing chtmh?

i started writing in early jan… i was bored over winter break and was inundated with study abroad tik toks and wanted to kms cause i was like TAKE ME BACK. and then i couldn’t find ANY study abroad literature that wasn’t anna & the French kiss. so i decided to be the change i wanted to see in the world… it was supposed to be a one shot and what we know as ch1 was done by the end of feb but i kept getting sick throughout feb so i couldn’t finish. and honestly i rlly wanted to post before the Olympics… that never happened. and i stopped writing the fic LOL for obvious reasons. until my friend convinced me to just post the first chapter.. and then i was like ok well now i have to finish it. and here we are.

i also rawdogged the fawk out of the first chapter i had no idea what was going on and i still kinda don’t
