unfortunate truth of reality is that oftentimes 15 year olds will say/do/believe some stupid bullshit because they are 15 but telling them that they believe that because they are 15 is probably the most counterproductive thing in the entire universe

believe it or not, you are not the exception to hope and redeem-ability. you too have a future with potential. you too are deserving of goodness and healing and forgiveness. sometimes that’s the hardest truth to believe, because you are blinded by your own self loathing but it is still the truth. i promise, for what that’s worth.
Yes, yes he did, and here it is … 👆
But what if the children LIKED to eat lead paint. That's their CHOICE.
The child says they will kill themselves unless we give them a lobotomy. We must obviously give the lobotomy. Or they will order an ice pick online with cutesy anime girl packaging.
Have you considered getting mental help?
Thanks, Ace-Pervert, I've never considered that. I'll look into it asap. Let's hope I'm not prescribed to have perfectly healthy and necessary organs removed and then have to be on pills or injections for the rest of my life.
Update I've been scheduled for my chemical castration and lobotomy but luckily the surgeon is letting me bundle them for a massive deal. Can't wait to finally become my true self via paying $100,000 to people who surely have my best intentions hidden in their open pockets
Update I have necrotizing fasciitis
i think too many people reach for the word unforgivable when what they actually mean is inexcusable
catholic AI tools are so funny. pouring out a gallon of water to ask theological questions from a computer that can never pray or know God in any capacity.
Quick shout out to the Down syndrome kid from my after-school program back when I was in grade school. Like yea he had the usual issues but he was a sweetheart and quite funny; and one day both his parents showed up at the same time to pick him up and I had the experience of meeting a family of genetically disabled people that had jobs and a home and a kid in school and it was a profoundly normalizing experience for me like I couldn’t take eugenicists seriously after that because like “no they totally can have whole entire meaningful lives with marriage and children and work and hobbies have you not met Dennis??” Anyway quick shout out to Dennis you were a real one
“My point is not that women should get back into the kitchen: it is that we all should, and into the other rooms of the home too. Machine modernity prised the men away from the home first, as the Industrial Revolution broke their cottage industries and swept them into the factories and mines, where their brute strength could be useful to the Machine. Later the women, who had been mostly left to tend the home single-handedly, were subject to the same ‘liberation’, which was sold to them as a blow struck against inequality. Perhaps it was, but it was also a blow struck against the home, for both sexes.”
— Paul Kingsnorth: Against the Machine
I really can and will blame the 9-5 for everything. "We're in a loneliness epidemic" well, we have to spend a third of our day interacting with people in a professional way that makes forming real friendships difficult and then we're peopled out by the time we're done. "People are eating more and more unhealthily" people have to spend more than a third of their day doing work related tasks and they don't want to spend their tiny amount of free time making food. "People aren't involved in their local communities" after spending more than a third of their day doing work related things people are tired and also all those community events take place during normal working hours. "People need to get more hobbies" after spending more than a third of their day working, people are TIRED and don't want to do anything that takes yet more energy. "Literacy is dying" to maintain your critical thinking skills you need to read/watch things that make you think and after spending more than a third of your day doing work related stuff you are TIRED and don't want to expend even more brainnpower. "People need to get outside more" People. Are. TIRED. Because they have to spend all of their time working or preparing for work or recovering from work or doing all the chores they couldn't stay on top of because of work. I can blame fucking anything on having to work, it is truly the root of all fucking evil.
I was watching a woman interview pro-life marchers, and one of them was holding a sign that said “four of my siblings were aborted. Choose life.”
This marcher said she was raised in a family of pro-abortionists, and the siblings before and after her were aborted because the mother “wasn’t ready” at first, and after she gave birth to the third baby, the mother just “didn’t feel like going through another pregnancy.”
That alone hit me so hard. But the part that hit the hardest was when the pro-lifer said “the reason why I was had is…because I was the more conveniently timed one.”
Why do we have to boil down the lives of children to one’s “convenience”? Why? This poor girl has 4 siblings who have no graves, no dates, nowhere to mourn or place flowers, all because her mother chose to think of herself before her children.
It’s so sad. It’s so so sad.
Rep Kat Cammack talks about her ectopic pregnancy and the journalist who deliberately twisted her story to make it another “woman denied medical care because of abortion laws” lie.
Kat Cammack’s story is evidence of what I’ve suspected regarding these stories, namely that doctors and nurses are being lied to about what the law says. Apparently they are getting ads telling them they could go to jail for providing treatment that is 100% legal in every state in the United States. Kat had to read the law verbatim from her phone to persuade them to treat her.
Abortion laws didn’t delay her care. Abortion activists did.
For women who don’t know the law as well as Kat did, delayed or denied care can be deadly. When you see articles claiming a woman died because of abortion laws, know that the real culprits were the pro-abortion activists spreading misinformation about abortion and abortion laws.
calling women anything other than women is actual 2022 misogyny and i’m tired of calling it anything else.
bleeders, menstruators, chest feeders, pregnant people, people with uteruses, people who menstruate, birthing persons, uterus owners, uterus bearers, anything of that sort is woman-hating nonsense.
women. women women women women women.
if you think women are “karens” or transphobic or terfs or any other negative word for not wanting to be dehumanized, you hate women and don’t think we deserve any basic respect. that’s it.
Currently (actually legitimately) sobbing because I looked up the etymology of the word "Mama" because I was curious and there isn't really one
It appears in so, so many different languages all across the globe, languages that have little else in common
beyond that, it's thought that it's origin is polygenesis rather than all stemming from some single root word—that maybe it's instinctive as opposed to taught.
It's thought to predate written language
From a language development standpoint, "mm," a voiced bilabial nasal, and "ah", a low back vowel, are two of, if not the two, earliest sounds humans make when we learn to speak
"Mama" being one of the very oldest words there is
Back in HS I attended a Catholic retreat and there was a celibate lesbian Catholic speaker that went up to talk about the Church's teaching on homosexuality. I didn't expect that considering the current political climate. It was a long speech but one thing that struck to me to this day is how she told her gf back then, "I would rather see you in Heaven than love you here on earth." That's such a beautiful way to love for someone correctly since love essentially means "willing the good of another," and caring for the salvation of one's soul is the ultimate good of that person. In our hypersexualized culture, spiritual friendship is so underrated.
some people will be like "ah yes, purity culture comes from the puritans, which were fanatic Christians, so purity culture comes from christian doctrine, and the two are basically synonymous", and then unknowingly praise Christians for expression the counter-christian ideas of... grace and forgiveness and not needing to be perfect.
alright people throw the term around a lot but what I've generally seen people to mean by "purity culture" is:
the belief that sex dirties you (even if you're married, it's just considered okay to be impure then)
therefore anything to do with sexuality should be hidden or avoided
something that is dirtied or damaged cannot be fixed again
an implicit or explicit understanding that pure things are more valuable than impure things
therefore the highest priority is maintaining purity. if you fail, boo hoo.
and this attitude is present in a lot of christian communities, but it's still wrong.
christian doctrine is:
sex is good and sacred, reserved to a man and woman in marriage.
it should be concealed to express it's sacredness, not dirtiness (this is open to cultural variation.)
redemption, salvation, forgiveness, etc. God makes things that were once bad, dirty, and broken into things that are good, pure, and whole.
human beings, from the most virtuous to the most evil, are unconditionally loved by God and more valuable than anything else on earth
the highest priority is having a good and close relationship with God
I also see people trying to counter it with what I'll call "impurity culture"
sex is dirty, but that just makes it edgy, interesting, and cool. any restrictions and standards are for squares
things that are pure should be dirtied and the dirt flaunted everywhere in celebration
something that is dirtied cannot be made pure again
dirty flawed things are superior to pure things, which are basic and boring and need to be transcended
the highest priority is deviating from purity, which is where you get your uniqueness and therefore your value from
"The devil always sends errors into the world in pairs--pairs of opposites…He relies on your extra dislike of one to draw you gradually into the opposite one. But do not let us be fooled. We have to keep our eyes on the goal and go straight through between both errors. We have no other concern than that with either of them.”
-- C.S. Lewis
Babies don't misbehave, they just behave. There's no such thing as a baby being "bad" because they don't understand cause and effect at first and have no concept of others feelings for a while after they do learn that.
A baby is never doing something to upset you. They don't act up to piss you off. They act in the only way they know how, and yes, sometimes the behaviour they're drawn to isn't great! That's why you guide them and comfort.
It's okay to be mad, but you need to remind yourself of this or you'll become resentful. Babies don't misbehave.
