If you hear anything, I’m just in here.
“I do,” said Robin in a ringing voice, looking straight into the eyes, not of her stony-faced new husband, but of the battered and bloodied man who had just sent her flowers crashing to the floor.

CORMORAN STRIKE BOOKS’ FACTS
That you might’ve not realised of / or remember! I spent weeks re-reading the books, taking notes and doing plenty of math and managed to put this together for all of you, particularly thinking of the writers out there like me. I didn’t put many things because I figured they’re more known, more remembered or simply unimportant, but I managed to make a chronology and all for all the fanfics. Everything I’ve put has been checked a thousand times so I know it should be 100% right. Hope you like and appreciate it and that it’s useful for you or helps you appreciate the books more! I also thought it’d be useful when the fourth book comes out, in case there are things we’ve forgotten from the other books, you can always check here and refresh your memory. Enjoy!
Books read in 2018 - “The Silkworm (A Cormoran Strike Novel)”
wow i’ve been trying really hard to stop drawing tom burke so much but @bea-doodles loves him so much she just won’t let me smh what can i say, can’t let down my friends
Yeah, she should leave him.
I was going to wait until I’d finished the matching piece for Robin, but I have approximately zero patience and some serious carpal tunnel.
I’m calling it “Lucky Strike”. (The background vector is the Lucky Strike cigarette logo because I relish a good character pun.)
Cormoran Strike’s timetable discussion
For writing purposes, I’ve been working on a time-table of the Strike books and since I’m not the only writer I think we could all help each other.
The web StrikeFans indicates that Robin is 11 years younger than Strike, but I just found out that’s a mistake, and Robin is only ten years younger. I’ll explain why. When the Cuckoo’s Calling starts, Robin is 25 and Strike is 35, right? so if StrikeFans was right, then the Cuckoo’s Calling start would’ve been sometime between October 9th and November 23rd 2010, because:
In The Silkworm we know Robin’s wedding is in January 8th 2011 (the first time they were going to marry).
When Robin gives Strike the wedding invitation it is stated that January 8th would be in seven weeks, so it would be November 2010.
Also in The Silkworm at Strike’s birthday dinner (which happens around the time he gets the wedding invitation) it is mentioned that his cake has 36 candles, which means he definitely turned 36 on November 23rd 2010, at the beggining of The Silkworm.
Which means the only way in which they could have 11 years of difference would be if Robin had already turned 25 before the Cuckoo’s Calling starts. And it’s virtually impossible for such book to happen entirely between October 9th and November 23rd, they weren’t THAT fast.
However it would make sense if The Cuckoo’s Calling started early in January (when it was still snowing, and Robin had only been there for a few weeks. StrikeFans suggests she moved in February to London, but I don’t think that’s right either (I’ve already found out a few mistakes in the website actually) because then the Cuckoo’s Calling would be starting at the end of February or beginning of March, when it couldn’t have been as cold and snowy as the book says, UNLESS the book starts days after Robin moved in, which doesn’t seem likely as she has already had plenty of job interviews by then) or, at the very late, February, when Robin and Strike were 25 and 35 in accordance to The Cuckoo’s Calling and then, Robin turned 26 outside the books and Strike turned 36.
This would also make sense with Robin marrying on January 2011, because most engagements last about a year and her wedding was only delayed for Ms Cunliffe’s death. So yeah, I say they’re ten years apart.
So what do you think? When do you think each book takes place in time?
