Goodbye Yik Yak
When I began using yik yak my freshman year of college, is was the hottest new app. Hilarious inside jokes about Cornell, tips about classes and college life, and a sense of community. As yik yak evolved, we got great things like My Herd. But the addition of handles and profiles, and the removal of the 'hot yaks' section is when yik yak began to lose popularity. This was not the yak Cornell had come to know and love. And now, three years later, the app is officially disabled. I know this blog has been largely inactive for the last year and a half, and that's due to my own declining interest as people stopped using yik yak and the quality of the content declined. But I would just like to say goodbye to yik yak. It helped welcome me to the Cornell community and that means a lot to me. It's been real. Goodbye ✌🏻️
