Okay so like...imagine this. I love the pairing of squabbleshipping,but this verse might break hearts.

Jack basically abandoned Crow. Not even set in the 5ds timeline, this is post canon and Jack cut off all contact with Crow for months. Not talking,no letters,not even messages or phone calls.

Crow grows really bitter,wondering if he was ever enough for Jack. Crow learns hes dating someone else and it really hurts.

Jack reverts back to the person he was before the Dark Signer Arc.

It’s also a coping verse for me honestly. I can take my bitterness and anger out in this,please don’t judge me for it. Though there’s a point of hope - and its Rex,reformed and better than he used to be.

And somehow... Crow ended up falling in love with him. No idea how, just did. One day it snapped into his brain that he was feeling something other than rage,bitterness,and hurt. (Though he loves the kids and doesn’t show it to them, never worries or upsets the kiddos).

In a sense he healed Crow’s heart,and his soaring spirit - and his wings. He’s himself again.

    “Gee,thanks!” he pulled a fake sniffle. “Shows how much you love me!” Crow knew Yusei was just trying to get his goat. They’ve known each other that long to know when Yusei was being a shit.
