⭐M/M Romance, 18+, Dark Romance, Dark, Enemies to Lovers, part of a series but can be read as a standalone.
Summary: It was hate at first sight. 2 mafia heirs, 2 families, 2 opposites and like they always say... opposites... attract. But they are much more similar than they realize.
(As always, I encourage looking at the contents and potential trigger warnings for a book before reading. Please do that to protect yourself🙏.
Villain series contains 3 books:
Kiss the Villain: Kayden/Carson
⭐Hunt the Villain: Yulian/Vaughn
Crave the Villain: Cyrus/Jethro (Not Published Yet)
Similar to what I did with God of Fury, I will not be reviewing the entire series. I wasn't particularly interested in "Kiss the Villain" and I have yet to know if I'd be into the 3rd book when it comes out!
I give this book 7 Longed for Kisses
Note! I will be comparing Niko and Brandon at some points from God of Fury to these two as they are similar but different. As a reference point but also to explain why their ratings are different but that doesn't mean I like a couple more than the other or that one story is less than cause they're not!
Now for my review~ Heads up for any potential mild spoilers!!
(Also please bear with me, it's been a month or 2 since I've read and I might forget some things)
First off. Fuckin love Teddy Hamilton my fuckin god. He did Niko in GoF and now he's Yulian in this one and just- MAN. I listened at work and had to stop myself from kickin' my feet, I tell ya.
Also I feel like I have so many thoughts on them but not enough words to articulate every single thing. I will try my best though.
I really enjoyed these two and their story. I love how forward and honest they were, I loved their quiet moments together (like the gas station), I loved their dynamic, I loved how 'insane' and wild Yulian was and I loved how Vaughn matched it in his own way but also is much more reserved and put together about it.
I love feeling off about something and being able to puzzle piece together that something is wrong or missing or doesn't seem quite right. Like with the time gap and what happened, I called that shit instantly pfpfpt.
Similar to Niko and Bran these two also had a bit of a push and pull however due to the way it was written, it worked decently well and didn't irritate me as much like GoF did. There was like one small thing I think but it got solved pretty quickly.
When I mentioned loving how forward and honest they were, I know there were moments of denial and again- a push and pull at times but from what I remember.. Obviously, Yulian took one "hit" and stayed addicted and you know he wants V pretty quickly.
For Vaughn though. He did too. Both these boys are certified yearners lol.
You get to uncover a lot as the book continues about their past but in their present even if Vaughn's like 'I can't have him, he's not part of the plan' and all of that, he doesn't deny that he doesn't have an attraction/drawl to Yulian. Not to himself really anyways and once he connects that, yea, he is gay he never denies it and accepts it pretty quickly AND his feelings for Yulian.
He knows what he wants but his thing that stops him is 'Can I have both these things that I want?'
I just really enjoyed that.
The reason I rated this one a .5 above GoF is because this one was more... simplified? to put it.. well, simply lol.
The push and pull didn't go on as long, the issues were not a huge heavy thing in this book like GoF
and what I mean by that is- Yes, the stuff with Yulian and his family was heavy in its own right but it wasn't the same heavy as Brandon's situation. Yulian was still himself, so was Vaughn even. Brandon had so much self loathing and Nikos love unraveled him and Niko also has his own mental things but the weight was so... potent. Both had a lot but Brandon's.... actually surprised a lot of people and I could feel what he felt and I could feel what Niko felt too and I loved their story.
Like I mentioned before, I love both couples equally. I feel Yulian and Vaughn and their story is easier to digest than Niko and Bran but I love them so fucking much and the only thing I would change is one or 2 of the scenes in the book but like that's it.
Both books I believe are worth the read if you're into stories like this! Just like I always say, read the triggers before hand ^^
Finally posting this, jeez. I finish reading it April 6th and am finally getting around to this pfpfpt.
[Upcoming Reviews: IMMERSED & ENTANGLED, Hazelthorn]

it’s really interesting how the guys that fight against paying child support the hardest are the ones that could afford to do it. these dudes will quit their well paying salaried job with benefits just to avoid their pay getting docked and potentially going to reimburse the mother of their child for buying their kid new shoes. they’ll leave their child without health insurance and work under the table jobs because they really hate their child and former S/O that much.
