something about believing in the thesis the game sets out to disprove, ending the intro with laying it out for you. something about that thesis being something they've bought into to cope with a long and painful childhood mourning someone gone. something about giving up the concept of agency, whether it's by trying every choice until they all may as well be random or by giving up the ability to make choices at all. something about outward behavior not changing but slowly, slowly, a spark of hope coming back. something about believing in someone who isn't who they lost, who's different in key, sometimes painful ways, but who has hope for them, and who they want to live up to.
