Before he had time to anticipate, the young man pounced with the ferocity of a leopard. The old tomb keeper grunted and stumbled as he seized Malik’s wrists as his hands reached closely, twitching to do harm.
Ishtar cursed under his breath. Where was Rishid, that little guard-jackal? He knew better than anyone how to wrangle Malik. If only he had brought him!
The creature was half cackling, half snarling like a ferocious animal freshly injected with rabies, thirsting for harm and damage. It didn’t matter that his wrists were seized, the creature’s lips curling back to reveal a vicious row of pearly white teeth.
“I killed you once, I’ll kill you again…!” The room echoed in his maniacal laughter, before strong jaws came down to sickly sink his teeth into the flesh of the fool’s shoulder. He clamped down excitedly until skin broke and blood splattered, the coppery taste like delicious nectar on the demented monster’s tongue.
A horrendous wailing tore through the room as the demonic aspect of his son seized him with a violent bite. Ishtar grunted and panted as he tried desperately to pry the young man off to no avail. If he didn’t think fast, this little wretch would tear off his flesh as fast as a leopard.
Then he realized: he didn’t need that little guard-jackal, just his name.
Ishtar hissed beneath his pain, “Ri… Rishid is on his way, Malik… He’ll be… He’ll be very disappointed, w-when he sees you; what will Rishid think of th-this?”
Yes, that sound only fed the rabid monster's violent bliss, vocalized uncontrolled pain and hissing agony the purest of music to fuel the excitement within. Yes... How the monster thrived off of these sounds and smells and warm, sticky tastes, letting go to howl in laughter as the maggot mentioned that detested name. Was the delusioned old fool hoping for it all to have some kind of magical effect still? Like holy water on demons? A wooden cross to a vampire? Silver to a werewolf? Mariku's laughter only heightened, blood dribbling down his chin to mat with the rest of the crimson fluid soaking down his shirt.
"Oh, no...! Anyone but Rishid!" The demonic creature mocked, shoulders hunched, looking ready to pounce again. "What would he think of this, I wonder... Your disfigured carcass, that is..."

“Say if I smash your face open… How much blood would spill out of you until your veins ran dry? With such a short form, might not even take very long…” He theorized coolly, approaching still, getting closer to the Pharaoh. “Go ahead, start screaming… It’ll only excite me more.”
“It would be a waste of time.” He comments dully. One step draws back, his concern for his vessel forcing his actions. “You seem interested in something you already understand. Don’t waste your time.” The softest of growls emits from him as another step draws him back.
“What is it do you suppose I already understand?” The creature murmured lowly, voice almost a haunting octave as it spoke. “The fact you locked me away to the Shadows and I’ve come back to exact a little revenge…? Yes. Yes, that. Are you implying revenge is a waste of time, ass-nip?”
“You understand how fast the body will drain of blood.” Drawing up with a wary glance, he replies. “You plan to take revenge for a Shadow Game you started.” He gives no inquiry, stifling the sharp amusement under a dark frown. Still too conscious that losing his life here will kill off the life that was born to this time. “I am implying you could not face your own mistakes.”
"Ah, yes... But understanding mechanisms and seeing the fruit result in torn flesh is something else entirely." The creature explained with a disturbing calm, fingers already flexing - no doubt imagining the scene in his very pleased mind's eye.
"No, no... It's not about any Shadow Game, maggot. I just don't like you. Never did. How about I make you face your own mistake... Literally."

“If you say so… Though, I thought you were looking to play, no?”
“I was thinking of a different game. However, I cannot help but wonder if something of mortal descent would be… appropriate to play the sort of game that I am thinking of.”
“‘Human’… ‘Mortal’… Aren’t we a little quick to judge. Should I be offended, I wonder?” Mariku snorts, a slow, demented grin coming to his lips. “Whatever you want to think makes no difference to me. Are we going to play or not?”
With his grin sprouting forth, a twisted-little-grin stretched across and distorted the demon’s own face. She gave a light chuckle, and took out a little contraption of sorts.
“Patience, patience, my child. Come- the first stage of my game is who can scream the least as,” She clicked the small lever on the the contraption, “I rip out both of our fingernails. Do you want to play with me?”
Dark mauve gaze eyed the contraption without much interest, the idea of using anything to snap someone's fingernails off boring. Why not tear out every finger instead? Yes... Much more plausible, much more blood gushing and screaming.
"How about I rip your eyelids out and feed them to you instead, without any device at all."

“Am I…? Hn. And what kind of ugly woman are you, fruitcake?”
Fruitcake? Woman? What strange insults. “I am a man. The great King of Thieves, mind you. I would watch how you address me.”
“Oh, no… Shivering in my boots, pest. What are you going to do to me if I insist you look more like a king of maggots? …For you will be, once I am done with you.”
“I highly doubt that. Nothing you can do can match what I have already experienced and lived through. Go through with your threats—that is if you even can.”
“Threats? Ah… Was not even aware the truth could hurt your fickle little feelings, gutter mole.”
“Are you ready to play?”
“Bring it on, it’s been awhile since Diabound has seen a decent opponent to battle—even if you don’t seem so tough.”
The thief got no warning as the creature attacked with lightening speed, having no regard or care for what exactly a 'Diabound' was at all. Nor did Mariku give the man a chance, murderous grip already snapping for the Thief King's neck.
Can you see why kids love cinnamon toast crunch?
“…”
That made him wince. He was starting to feel uncomfortable now.
“… Nuh-uh. … I’m more than a human. I’m a…”
He trailed off, distracted by the shadows that still danced back and forth between the two of them. They were still being drawn to him. That meant… he was stronger than this thing… right…?
Mariku’s deep gaze seemed to emit a flicker of amusement within their depths, shifting slowly to a stand while shamelessly tugging the useless runt up by the arm. The brat was weightless, but he wasn’t quite lifted off the ground just yet - rather courteously brought up to his own sneakered feet.
“More than a human?” There was an entertained air behind the words, tanned grip never quite leaving Zorc’s arm. The shadows kept crawling forth, pooling down his arm to their touching flesh like liquid satin.
“Do tell, little boy. You’ve won a flicker of my curiosity now, if only for as long as you can hold it.”
As much as his grip hurt, the shadows gave him comfort. And when he’d gotten onto his feet, he felt much more confident - even if he was still tired.
“…. I’m…”
“….. I’m a God.”
"A god?" Mariku repeated, seemingly studying the runt a moment. The creature's lips then quirked into a demented grin, decidedly pulling the boy dangerously closer. His own tanned face lowered and hovered mere inches away, as if thoroughly needing to examine Zorc's nasal cavity for the very truth behind those words.
For the longest time he said nothing, eyes simply staring as that mind turned, calculating. Had Mariku been human, the boy would no doubt have felt his breath upon his paler skin, such proximity no doubt inappropriate to human standard. But neither were at all human, and as far as the darkened alleyway went, no human could ever witness this very exchange amongst flickering shadows.
"..."
Wisps of shadows began to rise around the creature as well, tendrils curling up like thorny vines in smoky swirls. They danced around him and licked about like flames, almost as excited as he.
“Oh? Are we playing the game of who’s got the bigger ego now?”
“Kaiba would win that one, or Bakura,” came the offhand reply. “I, however, am merely warning you. I have my memories and thus my powers of old and have an even more ancient power than egyptian magic at my command if i really need it,” Yami replied, his shadows responding to Marik’s when the two powers brushed against each other and flaired up around Yami
“Ah,” The creature laughed, cocking his head as deep mauve hues pierced right through, uninterested in anything the other male had to say. “Is this where I buckle up in fear and suddenly give an ounce of care about your memories and ‘powers of old’ and all that other quack you are attempting to boast about?”
“Meaningless air is all it is to me… Tell the maggots when they roam about your skull after I put you back in your tomb.”
“Hn. I highly doubt you could kill me, Marik. You couldnt when i was much weaker, and you won’t now.” Yami replied, crossing his arms
Shadows curled about him like static, flaring as a mocking laugh escaped him.
"Your disappointed face will be sure to excite me then..." There was no other warning after that, the shadow-creature leaping forth at a remarkable speed with a rabid smirk, eyes wild and craving to see destruction and blood and gore. There was no fear in this monster, no limit or moral, no care to who his opponent really was. All that mattered was to satiate this anger and hate within... With a nice bloody canvas.

“With every light comes the darkest shadows… One would assume you know such better than I, piteous thief.”
“Well you seem to have less brain cells than I thought. I am not the thief. He died after summoning Zorc 5000 years ago. Because Zorc was sealed into the items. He was only brought back in that…memory world game, you really need to start getting your facts right.”
The creature paid no attention, unfocused eyes trailing down that moving throat as the air-sac spoke. “Why need I even care? Save the oxygen, mule.”
“I’ll make ‘facts’ out of you all right… Artifacts.”
“You have proven to be uninteresting as ever.” And with the he started to leave.
...Which was no doubt the fool's biggest mistake, the creature's features twisting into a demented grin.
"Did your thick ancient skull never learn not to turn your back on strangers?!" Mariku snarled out in a crazed laugh, before abruptly launching himself towards his prey. This was going to be fun...

In turn he took a step forward, fingers twitching to mangle and break and tear anything his fist could grip. Ah, the sound of ripping flesh… How it aroused him.
“Funny… You did say you had time to walk away. Suggesting you miscalculated, maggot?”
“I’m just suggesting you talk big but are less than qualified to make any real effort to catch me should I run”
"Can-it and just run already, shit-spewing harlot..."
He gave the woman no other warning, pouncing forward with a malicious laugh, eyes vividly demented and excited and already seeing a masterpiece of mangled limbs and broken organs. This should be fun.

The angel snapped his head up as a sudden force grabbed at the other before pushing him from the angel who slowly stood up, wincing painfully as he clutched his wing.
“D-Don’t touch…my wings…” He panted harshly, his other wing raising with the threat.
Barely comprehending what had happened, Mariku only laughed as he effortlessly regained his balance, still a fist full of pristine white feathers clenched in his fist.
“Then what do I tear off next? Your tongue? Your fingers…? Quit being a tease…”
The angel quickly started to back away, shaking softly as he gripped onto his wing. "S-Stay away..."
The monster was already fueled, hunched and breathing heavy, excitement inexplicable as it swam up his spine like a delicious thrill. He looked rabid, hungry for destruction...
"I'll be nice and let you start running... Go. Start!"

The whispers are coming, lamb…
Uh… Do you have to try and be this creepy, or does it come naturally?
Zorc’s head still felt heavy. He let it tilt to the side as he attempted to process what he was seeing.
“… Because you’re not… human. …. But… I dunno what you are. You’re made of… shadows. Since when… since when were there anything…. made of just shadows…?”
Of all creatures in existence, he should know of such beings. Or was this just another thing he’d forgotten?
The creature’s lip twitched, grin nearly fading to something dementedly cynical. “You ask too many useless questions.”
His grip tightened around the brat’s arm. Real monsters didn’t question their existences. They simply existed, and couldn’t care less.
“If I had a flicker of interest at all, I would ask your soiled flesh the same. You are not human either.”
That made him wince. He was starting to feel uncomfortable now.
“… Nuh-uh. … I’m more than a human. I’m a…”

“Nothing wrong with wanting to play… Lost your sense of humor along with growing those breasts, weakling?”
“Didn’t grow ‘em numb nuts. I was born with ‘em. I don’t understand why the fuck you keep saying shit like that but it’s really starting to piss me off.”
"Oh no... Don't get mad, little rat. How about we play a game where I make experiments on you in a lab... If I accidentally kill you, I win."
