I think that while Twilight definitely sees Wild as his student first; someone he needs to guide, maybe he's beginning to see Legend as a little brother; someone he needs to be there for. He takes after Shade to some extent with Wild, but for Legend? He takes after Time.

He smiles at Legend more than he does Wild. With Wild, he jumps to being stern first because that's how Shade taught him. With Legend though, he jumps to something softer, because that's how Time handles their team, the other heroes; the people they fight beside, not the people they're meant to guide.

It does things to my head I guess.
