Today in crazy invasive plecos, a word from the FWS. Stop throwing your plecos in the river/lake! (Actually any aquarium fish, but yeah, mostly plecos.)

(The Fish and Wildlife Service is a government agency here in the US.)

As always please research your fish before you buy and never throw your fish into the river/lake if they outgrow your tank.

bad news guys i think i’m too romantic to live in this world

things i’ve learned from nearly 2 years raising garden snails:

- they have best friends - they’ll go out of their way to sit on their best friends, kiss their best friends, and share lunch with them - lettuce is to snails what a favorite ball is to a dog - if ur tasty they’ll give u gentle scrapes - they are SOCIAL!!!!! - they all have very distinct personalities and quirks - they like comfort, they are affectionate - u can actually tell when a snail is sleepy because they’ll only stick their stalks halfway out and wiggle them gently - they’re very curious - they’re very clean and they love maintaining their shells - cuttlebone YUMMY, make shell BIG

aquariums are all fun and games and you’re only gonna get one til you wake up with four tanks and have boxes of live plants and fertilizers in the mailbox while you’re looking at imported wild type bettas online and homebrewing almond leaf extract for blackwater and wonder when exactly you lost control of your life choices
