Hey weird art thing i know artists on tumblr are a big source of inspiration for people but a lot of popular artists on here are teenagers and furthermore unestablished artists, who have yet to make a stable career from their work even if a lot of people admire it. That being said it is super uncool for others to copy their style or a piece of their work. As most people know an artist’s personal style/ originality is essentially all they have in the world of art. Ideally, an artists style being duplicated or imitated should be an honor, but when one is young and unestablished all it is is scary. It can be counterproductive and undermine the work an artist put into building their style and gaining recognition for their work. If you like an artist and you respect their work I hope you can also respect them enough to not cross the boundaries of the creative property they chose to share online, despite how impersonal a website as big as tumblr might seem. I hope this makes sense and shout outs to anyone who took the time to actually read through this.
Yes yes yes yes yes please read this because apparently yall don’t understand copying someone is 200% not a compliment anyone wants
